Anyone still using BANS 3.0 (EPN)?

A couple of years ago, I set up a bunch of Build A Niche Store sites using v. 3.0 on Ebay Partner Network. This month, I tried to set up a new site, but I can't get past Step 4 of the Install process - I just get a bunch of code. I can not login to set up my site, because of the error.

Has anyone set up a site using v. 3.0 in the last couple of months? If so, do you have any idea why I'm having this problem? I am following the install manual instructions, and every variation that I can think of to get this to work.

Have you tried using their forums to see if you're the only one having this issue or do other share in your grief?.

Yes, I found their forums, and some others are having similar issues. I've tried the fixed that were suggested, but with no success. I really don't know if anybody is still having success setting up stores right now, though. Most of the info that I can find is a year old.

What a coincidence, I was just about to purchase Bans Package which they offer now at $49.95.
Can anyone share their experience on Bans. I am not internet savy and if Yandig got a problem on installation to step 4, I am afraid if I purchase it, then I too will face the same problem.

Just grasping at straws here, but maybe it's a PHP issue, i.e. the script might be configured to run using PHP 5 and your server might be running PHP 4 or vice-versa. Have run in to this sort of problem several times especially when the server host does some upgrades but I missed the announcement of the change.

If this is the issue it can usually be resolved with the addition of a line or two of code to your htaccess file that will force your server to run the needed version of PHP.

I quit BANS in favor of PHPBay. It's much more flexible, IMO.

I have been reading on the internet about pre 3.0 BANS websites that are still indexed on Google. They were saying that these pre 3.0 BANS websites have relevant contents and still generating good traffic. As for those BANS that were upgraded to 3.0 were de-indexed by Google and never to be found again. I should have saved the URL for this type of reference. But I will post the link when I find it. I hope this helps.

To be honest I'm having problems with PhpBay too.
When i June Google set up the new algorithm all my website had a major loss of visits. Not deindexed but went from (for example) 300 visits a day to 5...

You updated to the latest version, right? They started enforcing the redirect rules. PHPBay sent out an update.

I got a new store setup last night. I could not get BANS to work correctly with hostgator, so I tried a different host and everything went smoothly.
I believe the issue may be with the php version, as TestCase suggested.
