If any of you guys is in Japan or South Korea or somewhere where the mobile web is much more advanced....
Could you make a video and upload it to youTube browsing a few internet pages from your mobile? (and tell us here when it's ready and where it is!)
My interest lies in seeing what's the default extension in phones there, or how the mobile internet problem is handled in general.
I would very much also appreciate replies on the following:
1) how accustomed is people (mass market, not only geeks) to the mobile internet?
2) are webpages re-sized for mobiles by default? if so...by operators, by phones (devices) or by whom?
3) if pages are not resized, is there any kind of function to re-size them automatically and easily by users?
4) are there many .mobi investors in these countries? What's their opinion about .mobi in general?
5) is .mobi advertised anywhere? does "anyone" know about it?
6) is there anything else similar to .mobi or that fulfils .mobi's role?
7) what happens when the user types in the browser nav bar...say...a general word that doesn't have to do with any mobile service...for example "metaphysics" and press enter? Where do they go?
8) what is the general custom when people need information in their mobile? Do they use the nav bar to type in concepts or do they use some kind of search bar provided by a search engine?
9) add your questions namepros mobiers!! I am sure I forgot something...
I know that some of these questions may seem obvious, but they're not, unless you are in one of these countries and really know what's going on there. Yes...we have access to news...but too little and too late.
I hear rumours, but want facts. I want first hand information from people who have the handsets in their hands every day!
Thank you very much to whoever uploads the videos / reply to this thread.
[alternatively, maybe no one in this forum is in a position to respond. In that case, could you fellow forum members forward this thread by email to friends of yours in these countries? I think we really need this info!!)
