Hello All -

A family member of mine was in the process of opening up a Vending Division of his company. Unfortunately, he recently passed away and I am left handling his business and personal affairs.

One of the things I am working on are 143 domain names he has purchased over the last # of years - 70 of those are .com domain names contain the word "Vend" or "Vending". I've listed all of his domains for sale, however, I don't want to sit back and hope/pray the game comes to me.

Question I have is: Has anyone had success selling domain names that include "vend" or "vending"? If so, any insight would be greatly appreciated (i.e. Random person started a vending business and found that you had the domain he wanted, You posted your XXXvend/vending.com in a certain trade publication and had success with that, You reached out to stakeholders at company XYZ and used your gift of persuasion to get them to purchase your domain name, etc.).

I am new to the "selling" process when it comes to domains and I've quickly realized this is very similar to the stock market and, because of that, I will probably have to lower the bar as it pertains to quickly moving 143 domains. With that being said, if I can proactively reach out to certain avenues, and try to expedite the process, I am certainly going to do that.

Thank you for your time and I appreciate any recommendations you are willing to offer up.

Jason

Hi, welcome to np :xf.smile:

Reported "vending" .coms

You'll only see 10 results without signing up, but can sort by price, date etc. to get a better idea.

Good luck (y)

I sold VendForce on Brandbucket in 2019, and Vendium in some other unknown year. And recently registered WowVend (.com).

Sorry for your loss.

Sounds like a nice little niche portfolio. Without knowing the exact domain names, it's going to be hard for anyone to gauge the potential value of each or the entire portfolio.

I haven't sold any "Vending" related domains that I recall over the years. However, the process is pretty standard for any niche (Rinse and repeat).
(i.e. Random person started a vending business and found that you had the domain he wanted, You posted your XXXvend/vending.com in a certain trade publication and had success with that, You reached out to stakeholders at company XYZ and used your gift of persuasion to get them to purchase your domain name, etc.).
Every domain investor/reseller has a slightly (to dramatically) different strategy when it comes to reselling a domain name asset. Each also has a different favorite marketplace or publication service they like to use religiously.

Most, will gravitate to a marketplace that gets the most traffic (Even though it's generally not targeted for the specific niche of a particular set of domains). Which means, if 99% of the traffic is at that high-traffic marketplace to browse domains in various niches, but only 1% is actually looking for your niche, it may not be better than a lower traffic marketplace that may have 5% to 10% looking for your niche.

Its hard to gauge which marketplace is best for each niche, however, I did do a marketplace review of 11 different marketplaces that might help narrow it down a bit for you and your niche here: https://www.namepros.com/threads/11...ir-advantages-disadvantages-and-more.1354416/

The following tool lists, guides, and articles may also be helpful:
While your domains sit and wait for a buyer, you may also want to consider putting them on a free customizable landing page that can be monetized to generate a little revenue until you find that perfect buyer.

The following article + some of the comments/replies in the thread that outline different monetization ideas could also prove to be helpful: https://www.namepros.com/threads/do...ander-monetization-generated-100-usd.1357435/

Good luck! ;)
