Is anyone else using cashback programs to save on costs?

I'm using:

  • topcashback.co.uk (and its .com version > topcashback.com) when purchasing from GoDaddy and NameCheap
    For GoDaddy I'm getting 15.75% cashback (yes, it works for DDC too ;) ).
    For NameCheap I'm also getting 15.75% cashback but I've had some issues with orders that did not track. Those did track eventually but I had to contact support to claim the cashback.
  • extrabux.com when purchasing from Dynadot
    For Dynadot I'm getting 25% cashback which is huge in my opinion.
    For example, with the latest transfer promo they had > $7.99 for a transfer you get $2 back > this mean the transfer basically costs you $6... and that's the lowest I know of right now.
    Not only that $6 / transfer is the lowest but you get your domains with Dynadot which is kind of a big deal since they are one of the "better" registrars around.
Of course, you need to remember to click the cashback link before all purchases... But if you have a large portfolio - trust me - it's worth it. For 100 transfers you save $200.

You can join using my affiliate links below (sometimes there are bonuses for doing so):
topcashback.co.uk > https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/namedawn
topcashback.com > https://www.topcashback.com/ref/namedawn
extrabux.com > https://www.extrabux.com/r/52978b822e (at this time they offer $20 sign-up bonus... which is a lot for this kind of program)

If you don't want to use my affiliate link (for whatever reason) just copy the name and avoid accessing the link.

I tried many of these programs and, from my experience, these are the most serious ones. They actually track the orders most of the time and, unlike others, they actually pay.

You can use these programs even for other stuff you can get cashback for. For example I used them for plane tickets with Lufthansa, ebookers and skyscanner, train tickets with trainline, bus tickets with flixbus, car rental with Priceline, hotel room with Hotwire and booking.com, Adobe subscription, NordVPN subscription, BestBuy purchases, etc...

If you need clarifications, instructions, whatever (even proof of payment) - post here or send me a DM.

Full disclosure: I do prefer topcashback.co.uk because they are the fastest paying and they were the most helpful when I had issues with orders that did not track.

@Recons.Com > don't use it then. You wanted to prove a point and you did. I'm not going to make it my life purpose to convince you to use cashback programs. ;)

@Jv1999 > I don't think they're dumb, they're just support for a generic cashback program. They don't know / understand this area just like I don't understand quantum physics and you probably don't understand advanced astronomy. They just read the ToS, read the wording of the question and give a reply.

No need to be rude. You created the thread to earn affiliate money and I and others helped you, although no one had to.

And I ran into multiple problems with them, including no cashback for multiple days. When I contacted them, they asked why am I buying so much and I replied that I am a domain investor. And then ... you saw the response.

Look @Recons.Com, I'm not being rude. I even asked you very politely over DM a few days ago if you solved your issue. I asked because I know I never had such issues for much larger cashback amounts than 10 renewals. I got no reply.

I am being rude and I only care about "my little cashflow"?
I apologize.

Ok, I removed that part. That was baseless assumption.

PM: I intended to reply to that, but was waiting for TC's response. And when I saw it today, it came as a complete shocker, so shared here, but was not expecting your mentoring tone with "don't like it, don't use it".

@Recons.Com > don't understand what you removed but ok - great. {LE: okay, understood, you removed the "little cashflow" part}

It's not mentoring tone. From the "Thanks for getting in touch" start of the reply, even if English is only my third language, I was assuming you went and simply asked for a clarification for something that is engineered to be vague - affiliate ToSs. In my book that's looking for trouble, not looking to solve an existing issue (like your missing cashback).
I did not know it was a cherrypicked reply from a longer conversation. Now I know.
Can you please accept my apologies and let's just move on?

It is all good. No, I was not going and asking. I just asked for my missing rebates for few days. And they asked why I am buying so many.

DynaDot - The Cashback program you mention applies to renewals? or only transfers incoming to DynaDot?

Actually I went down the line examining each extrabux DynaDot offer and I didn’t observe anything special or extra beyond what DynaDot currently offers to anyone. Unless...it really means that when I pay my monthly renewal fees for all my domains I’ll somehow get 20 - 25% cash back?

Recons has a point. You're marketing cashback programs to domainers fully well knowing that these same programs don't apply to domainers, thereby causing many to reggae at these registrars using these programs (which most likely have higher reggae prices than, let's say, Namesilo). In essence, you're causing people to spend more with a "semi-chance" that the cashback programs work in their favor.

But you're still being very defensive instead of apologetic, which makes these offers seem more dubious.

At any rate, if the dynadot offers cleave off more % from the 5.99 current special rate. Then at least that's something we can use...

In his defense, he might have not known about these intricacies. I was shocked myself. I have used ebates/rakuten for long and never faced anything of this kind.

TC are idiots, basically.

@xynames - yes, it does
@Recons.Com - glad we're good

@Jv1999
  1. I did not know about this limitation. It went fine for me all the time for much larger transactions. It is very weird that @Recons.Com got interrogated like that.
  2. The .co.uk doesn't have this limitation and I think it's the third time I'm mentioning that I prefer to use the .co.uk. I prefer it and I recommended it for different reasons but that's irrelevant.
  3. Thanks for the accusation, attack, whatever. Much appreciated.
Apologies for conducting "dubious" activities.

This thread can be ignored. Everybody can pack up and go back to "paying less" with NetSol, 1&1 domain.com & co. if this looks dubious ;)

If anyone did follow the thread, chooses not to ignore it and listen to my advice to use the .co.uk versions, you should know that there is a £5 bonus if you sign-up using my link:
https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/namedawn

I don't know how long it is going to last. It's usually a few days.

Do these services work for someone in India or are they US/UK centric? Can make domain website payment in USD/Euro/Pound, so that's not an issue.

Please Clarify

@fastcool - judging by my referral stats many received cash back but people normally don’t share good experiences :)
Truth be told, I also had some issues with dyna cashback during the promo: out of 7 transactions that I had with them, only 3 tracked automatically and the other 4 I had to add manually.

@howudoin8 - There are no restrictions for India as far as I know.

Only few days left > you can get transfers for $5 with dynadot promo + extrabux.
Remember to preperly follow the cashback instructions and don't forget that you have to use the code COMHERE at checkout.

I registered at extrabux few days ago. Now all I need to do is login first to extrabux then go to DynaDot load my cart with renewals pay as usual and I’ll get cashback?

I’m not doing transfers just renewals. Any code I need to enter at checkout or the only requirement is login to extrabux first then go to DD then load cart, in that order?

Enter dynadot through extrabux while making sure you don't have other affiliate cookies for dynadot as that will most likely invalidate your cashback. I tend to use a separate (clean) browser for this purpose just to make sure.

PS: If you joined using my link a few days ago you should already have a $20 bonus (still valid). Enjoy ;)

Unfortunately I don't think I joined via your link, I think I missed that somehow. I would have rejoined with your link right now, but the reason I joined then waited to do the DynaDot purchases was I was waiting for the 25% (versus 20%) or maybe it was the cashback boost card to become effective which it was not effective on the day I signed up. So I didn't want to start that whole waiting process up all over again rejoining under a different email, so I guess I missed the $20.

However what I did do just now is follow your advice and use a "clean" browser that I have reserved for always deleting all cookies on each restart, and logged into extrabux then DynaDot then made the purchases. I paid two months of renewals so that's about $2K so let's see what happens! Between getting 25% back and all the welcome bonuses I should get quite a lot.

20 % vs 25 % is just cashback boost "card". You get it anyway, you just have to apply it :)
You get quite a few each month for various reasons regardless of new vs. old user. I never ran out of boost cards.

Sorry that you did not join using my link. You lost $20 and I did not get commission for referring you.

However, I do understand that for some reason, around here people are hesitant to use referral links. Whenever you post content with referral links, the "veteran" members have an urge to make you feel like you are doing something very wrong and they're the holders of the absolute truth :)

I waited a week for my Dynadot purchases (over $2K worth), and they did not add to my Extrabux account automatically. Three days ago I added them manually, which is a bit of a process involves a combination of copy/paste and screenshots and filling in fields, still show as pending nothing yet.
