Anyone Else Hating GoDaddy's New Search Platform?

I don't like it.

If a domain is taken it then shows you a list of lousy options you can register instead and if you want to search again you have to scroll down to the search bar, and the name is no longer showing in the search bar so you cant quickly search for a different variation like just changing part of the name or a keyword, you have to retype the entire name.

And if that's not bad enough they removed the Whois link.

So with the new platform it slows a person down who likes to do a lot of searches and in the end they may register less domains.

The previous platform was perfect.
Why fix something if its not broken to begin with?

i don't know what your beta testing consists of or if outside opnions ever enter the equation, but for what it's worth, i can assure you that this new layout you are trying out while actually searching for a domain name is absolutely HORRIBLE!!

It looks like you have removed the 'who is' function altogether and when returning a query for a search, you now push everything - INCLUDING the actual search box - WAY below the fold - instead opting to peddle the secondary extensions without a drop of visual hierarchy.

I know many of us are just used to the normal routines when searching for names, but normally when you update your site, it's an easy adjustment to get used to - but this?... one of the worst strategic commerce layouts you have ever tried. How much longer do we have to deal with this one?

Oh yeah.. and the new checkout??.. shopping cart??
WOW..... just ...WOW!!

Epic FAIL!!!


Please reconsider this mess.

It's designed NOT for user ease, but to maximize Godaddy profits by trying to upsell a lot of crap.

And in the process they make it difficult for domainers to find domains, and domainers are their single biggest customer for domain purchases.

Way to screw the pooch.

GoDaddy don't like domainers. That's why I moved my domains out. After about 100 whois checks on your domains in a day they block off your ip address for 24-48 hours. Not good if you have many domains.

Started searching for domains tonight. That garbage on the top is really irritating.
