Still no news about transferring .eu domain names.

I'd like to transfer our domain names to Internet.bs. However, no option in their control panel.

Anybody had any success transferring domain names to Internet.bs? How did you do it?

Also, is it true that EURid charge €18 per .eu transfer? :(

I've transferred a .EU domain and it's really easy to do so.

1: Ask internet.bs to let them do a transfer, this means you will have to apply for the domains in the regular fashion you would also do when they where freely available.

2: You will recieve a email from Eurid with a confirmation request. This will contain a link to the official site of Eurid. Upon clicking the link you will notice that the confirmation request is waiting for you. You merely have to go through a couple of questions, Yes or No.

3: Now you need to wait a few days for the ownership transfer to complete.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did not requested the transfer myself, i got an email in my inbox from Eurid asking for the confirmation of transfer of ownership when i sold a .EU domain.
So the buyer had apperently requested the transfer from his/her's registrar.

No need for control panel procedures, everything is done through Eurid themself.
Apply for the same domain with internet.bs and you will recieve a confirmation email for the transfer. You will see the current owner information and next to it you will see the new owner information and you will be asked to comply or not to if you do not want to. In your case you will see the same information apart from the registrar the domain is being transferred.

And the transfer is free! In my experience that is, if you have to pay for it then it's your current registrar where your domain(s) is/are residing. Eurid themself do not charge any transfer fees.

Hope that helped.

Thank you Damion: you are a star.

I have been in contact with Internet.bs and they are asking €11 per domain name for a transfer. They say that EURid charge them €10. Also on the EURid website it mentions a transfer fee. Don't know if they elongate the registration period by a year as there is no detailed info. Typical EU mess!

Any ideas?

Hmm, you're right Azam. I noticed by viewing this page on the site of Eurid that they do charge a transfer fee to the new registrar which in turn will be billed to you i guess.

I'm sorry i was not aware of this :( I was under the impression that this was a procedure without any money involved as i was told by a registrar where i have a large portion of .EU domains registered with.

This confuses me as well, they even charge a transfer fee for internal transfers within the network of a registrar.
So i guess the buyer of my domain also had to pay a transfer fee...something that i was not aware of.

The registration period will be elongated on the date the transfer has been completed, so i guess it's best to wait a while to save some funds on it. Depending of the amount of domains of course i would take this in condsidderation.

You could change your nameservers right? if you wanted to host the site at another registrar?

Thank you for the detailed response.

Complete mess up is this. Why can't the EU do anything in a straightforward manner?
