Just got a weird question from our bank today, asking us what are the transactions we make in relationship with Cyprus. (they been very cryptic and told us nothing except asking that question). I'm baffled. We could not reply to any of this.
That's a big red flag (if true) as Cyprus it a known fiscal paradise here in EU. But we don't trade there nor related.
Sifted through 6 months of transactions (a document wall), and found nothing related to this country. Side note I doubt it's about a Paypal transaction of $20 to a fellow domainer here. Also nothing unexplainable in the statements.
The only foreign partners that we do a lot of transactions with are registrars.
The usual everyone knows, GoDaddy, Dynadot, Sav, NameCheap, Epik, Cosmotown and a few of the little ones with very few transactions here and there. Most of these firms are based in the US.
It's likely we have a CC transaction there (if there is a valid reason for this) but the destination might be a Cyprus bank or something, however that info doesn't appear in our bank statements.
The question still remains. So:
Do you know of any such registrar linked to Cyprus, having a bank in Cyprus or a subsidiary there?
Any info on that could help.
