I want to develop cakebeaters.com
There are several directions I could go with it.
I'm most interested in "name brand" advertising and click thru revenue.
Also thinking about using the site to advertise other sites that have to do with custom cakes (i.e charm city cakes) or maybe lean toward linking to sites that sell "cake beaters".

ANy thoughts?
Thanks!

If it was me, I would probably use the product angle. Make a 10-20 page site with the home page bieng informational about how to choose the best cake beater and each subpage being keyword optimized for a different brand of cake beater.

Limit the ads on the home page to one small one at the top and another at the bottom. The ads on the homepage are forpeople who bounce. Most of them will have found your site by accident and actually were not looking to buy a cake beater. Just give them somewhere to go without giving everyone the idea you are pushing ads. Make the site look informational not spammy. Anyone who reads on further will go into your subpages.

Subpages would be something like "Kitchenaid cake beaters" "Other Brand cake beaters" and all be keyword optimized for that particular brand. Then the ads that pull on your subpages will be highly targeted and hopefully pay well.

Once you get a few clicks on each of the subpages, figure out which brands pay the best, and re-write the home page to push users twards the brands you get the best paying clicks on.

I'm pretty sure you'll make more off selling beaters than selling cakes. I could be wrong, but I would think the beaters would pay more because they are more easily sold online.
