Neu vs Neue vs Neues which is correct?
@BrandCollectors.com - suggest you PM @frank-germany
It's all correct. It depends on the noun which one you should use. If you Google it you'll find some examples.
Make sure to read up on German grammar to get things like this right.
Neues means new or news? Googled: Neues Museum (New museum) , Neues Deutschland (Germany news)
is it ok to use neues with second word?
News != Neues
so it means new? not news
ok but what does neue and neu mean?
I reckon the German language was specifically designed to confuse us who use the English language, the language of simple words, clear meanings, and ............... oh, hang on a minute, perhaps I have got this wrong.
the new news are out...
the breaking news
but they are not new.
he's got a new car
er hat ein neues Auto
the car he owns is new
sein Auto ist neu
news = Nachrichten
"Neu" ist am besten
I love the German language. Really. Very interesting... Would enjoy to learn it someday! The language of Goethe, Gutenberg, Mozart, Kant, ... and Sedo
Some offtopic for Sunday... : I've heard that the below story is true...
Let's, for example, get a book in German... this in case, a magnificent volume, with hard layer, published in Dortmund and that tells us the uses and customs of the Australian indians Hotentotes (in German "Hottentotten"). The book says that the kangaroos (Beutelratten) are captured and placed in cages (Kotter), covers with a screen (Lattengitter) to protect them of intempéries.
These cages, in German, are call "cages covered with screen" (Lattengitterkotter) and if when they possess in its interior a kangaroo (beutelratten), could be called Lattengitterkotterbeutelratten.
One day, a Hotentotes had arrested an assassin (Attenteter), defendant to have killed a mother (Mutter) hotentote (Hottentottermutter), mother of a deaf and dumb boy (Stottertrottel).
This woman, thus, in German, calls Hottentottenstottertrottelmutter and its assassin we call, easily, Hottentottenstottertrottelmutterattenteter.
They put him in a cage of kangaroo (Beutelrattenlattengitterkotter).
But, accidentally, the prisoner escaped. After a search, quickly comes a Hotentote Warrior crying out:
- We capture an assassin (Attenteter).
- Which one? - asks the aboriginal head
- The Lattengitterkotterbeutelrattenattenteter - comments the warrior
- What? The assassin who was in the cage of kangaroos covered of screen? - says head of the Hotentotes.
- Yes, - the Hottentottenstottertrottelmutteratenteter - answers the aboriginal - (murderous of the mother of the boy that he was deaf and dumb).
- Dam!! - the head says. - You could have said since the beginning that had captured Hottentottenstottertrottelmutterlattengitterkottertobeutelrattenattenteter
(murderous of the mother of deaf and dumb the boy that was in the cage of kangaroos covered of screen).
that's why you never hand reg a decent german domain
Attenteter = Attentäter
kangaroos = Kängurus
Hottentottermutter = HottentottenMutter
cages (Kotter) = Koffer
Stottertrottel = policially very uncorrect and never heard of - but somehow funny from the way it sounds
and the long words are no good choice
neither in common language
not in domains
@frank-germany A few days ago I remember reading one of your posts saying " and leave the German domains for me. "
OK, I am convinced, you can be assured as far as I am concerned I will leave them ALL for you.
Very true. Also, a lot of business in Germany are happy with .de and are not looking to purchase matching .com be it handreg or premium. Not all, but many. Afaik. And, resultingly, the size of .de zone is very large... It is larger than .net ...
It's not that hard to learn although Dutch is quite similar in some ways so I suppose it's harder when your native language is English.
Once you get used to the basic grammar you'll be fine. Most German people I know appreciate it when you make the effort to use German if you can, it doesn't have to be fluid
Mods why this thread was moved to break room? we talked about domains.
I now understand why good ppl move on from this forum.
Separate names with a comma.
