Michael,
There are no fees unless the domain name sells. You set the reserve, then they must approve the domain and the reserve.
There is no question Monte/Moniker/Rick/Traffic do a great job, but I agree 10,000% *EvErYoNe is turning their cheek to the *REALITY of ".TV".
The problem is however, many believe on this board (for some odd reason) that just because "TLD" it is growing like crazy and is a great opportunity for speculation and development--NOT ALL DOT TV domains are worthy of reg fee, EXACTLY LIKE ".com" domains.
We are ALL guilty of bad regs, but I've seen the majority of negativity in this forum about "lack of sales" and inclusion of their DOT TV domains into auction, from indivuals with poor or even terrible domain names. I WILL however admit that sales are slow across the board--*including DOT COM domains! The reality is, just like with ANY major TLD, prime, one and two word generics (that actually make sense/commerical value/type-ins) and Geo domains are the "real ticket" and where EVERYONE should be spending their time, energy and investment money. *(IMHO only)
This GEO conference should be a very interesting one to attend. SimplyGeo.com and GeoDomainer.com are very, very impressive and should *really help mature and motivate the Geo domain name industry.
