Another Computer Hardware Problem!

Heya.

I have a DVD-R drive and a CD-R/RW drive. I have put them in my computer, attaching them to the same optical drive -to- mother board cable. Now, for some reason, the computer will only pick up the DVD drive. Is this because I have put it on the same cable? What can I do?

Try updating your drivers for this matter. Do you have SP2 installed?

Mine did exactly the same thing, my IDE cable had come loose....

Did you set the jumpers? Im pretty sure you have to set one as a primary and the other as a slave

Exactly what i was going to say, thats probally the problem... set your jumpers in the box the drives came with, will give you instructions how

If none of the tips that others game you works, then I suggest going to http://forums.techguy.org/ . It has helped me many a time when I had problems
