"Registrants wishing to use Anonymize.com privacy services must first create a free WHOIS profile. Once you have created a WHOIS profile, you will get a unique Anonymize.com handle. This Anonymize.com handle can then be used in place of manually entering WHOIS details."

We no longer have to pay for whois protection on registrars like godaddy, now we just sign up once, and use that on every registrar for free :), i think this will cause a big stir with the big domain registrars who charge for whois protection.

Good it seems only for registrars I have never heard of much.
Doubt that godaddy, namecheap, and all the other biggies would waste their time and resources on this site.
Plus it would cost them to join.
So not good on any registrar!!!!!!!!!

The only problem I see with this is that it isn't truly anonymous in the sense that all of your domains are categorized under 1 account.

For example, with free Uniregistry whois protection, one domain has an name/corresponding email address of "PRIVACYDOTLINK CUSTOMER 165XXX" and "[email protected]". However, the other domains have a different customer ID. With that being said, the registrant ID remains the same across all domains in the account. Nonetheless, when someone tries to reverse look up a portfolio, they go by name/address.

If you're creating 1 whois identity on this service, your information is private. Though, one domain will always be connected to another with the same email address and name, making it easier for someone to figure out the owner.

Conclusion, even if Anonymizer allowed multiple whois identities, you would still run into this problem. Though, it would be hell updating every single domain whereas you can easily flick on free privacy at other registrars offering it... quit relying on coupons.

iowadawg - you can use it on any registrar, it doesn't matter which one as essentially you get replacement contact details that you can put anywhere.

David Walker - True, you can see an example whois with mongu(dot)com, but essentially only the email is different, everything else will be the same for everyone who uses anonymize.com, but for the email, instead of having their email, I just use a sales@ wild card domain.com, essentially I only use to this to block all the spam calls, and if lots of people start using this service, it would be hard to tell which domains are owned by which person, especially if they use wildcard, and then you just set your registar to update all contacts with those details, lol the coupons are to addictive.

So the email assignment for domains will always be the same for the customer, just like Uniregistry? Also, approximately how many domains are being protected by your service? Without enough critical mass, the anonymize.com email & whois address becomes another footprint.
