I have seen references to English meanings as a directory but can also mean a diary/yearbook/annual.

I have to express an interest in that I reg'd annary.com a few weeks ago.

it's hard to value premium domain names in French, as there have not been many high sales.
Masculin.com holds the record, with EUR 150,000. But I suspect that it was only an advertisement coup for the buyer. I don't know if they have really paid this price, but I'm sure that it has been more than profitable with all the buzz around this purchase.
Anyway, annuaire.com is many times better than masculin.com.

there is another .fr that I know sold for 150k eur as well.

oh and poker.fr turned down a $1,000,000 offer.
