this is absolutely ridicules, how much of a slimy person do you have to be to register isdead.tld, that is appalling. I didn't care to much for the woman, but come one people, she was a person, show a little respect.
trying to make money off her death is repulsive.

Agreed :(

I personally don't like giving any advertising to them at all - Just encourages more Jokers to come out of the woodwork and try to monetize off it.

Mark, you can delete this post. No problem here. I agree.

Very sick. You have to be sleezy to do something like that.

How is it any different from the Pope registrations a while back? Those were registered to profit off of someone's death, correct? I don't remember people getting so upset about that.

With that said, how legal is it to register a celebrity's name? Even though that celebrity may be dead, doesn't their estate still retains the rights of their name?

How is it disrespectful? Poor taste maybe but jeez...the woman was a media star mostly for the drama that surrounded her. The tabloids, news, and press certainly will make from this...why not domainers as well? In America the line between slimy and respectful is nearly the same line as rich and poor. Few get rich for their ethics but many do get poor.

Sorry to lecture. Personally I am sad to hear she died and didn't register any names.

I've had people I know die... but it's all about capitalism. Profiting off a death is fine by me. Somebody somewhere is going to profit.

I don't do it myself, I just don't have much of a problem with it.

I don't agree.

There is a huge difference making money from someone who is a celebrity
in online, tabloids, tv, etc... (with positive or negative news)
and making money of someone (anyone) who died.

And where would the world be if we even did not know the words "ethics"

You can be agressive in business and do well...but that doesnt mean you have to be sleazy. I know many successful business men and women that have a very strict code of ethics and THAT IS why they are successful....not in spite of it.

To each there own...someone once told me that it's the things you do when people aren't looking that define your character. I always admired that statement.

Agree, every media baron in the world will be selling the news of her death.

Actually .... I dis-liked those too .... And DID say things ;)

Also caught a few trying to Pump and Dump theirs ....

If someone intended to make a "Decent" memorial or Fan site .... that's one thing.

Most of the names listed aren't suitable for that - And what could fans possibly discuss on her in reality ??? She married well ??? No disrespect toward those passed on .... But her celeb status was over mainly negative things. The movie cameos etc ... weren't for the skills for the most part - Just because her name was already in the spotlight.

Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Jimi Hendrix, James Dean and the list goes on and on. It's sad mysterious tragic deathes like Anna Nicoles that actually makes them into legends...not imho a bad fate even if the price is a little bit of bad taste.

So does anyone with an Elvis domain have bad ethics?

Big difference .... There weren't domain scavengers around when Elvis passed on though i'm sure if it was something that happened in a modern age , There would have been.

Things done with Taste are one thing , Most of the stuff I've seen so far (PM me for a perfect example of an Idiot) are not in good taste.

I won't post this particular domain/site in the open - As it has an Idiotic ShoutBox on it .... and thats the entire content for the most part (Reported to adsense already) other than a opening 5 or 6 word sentence showing No respect to her at all.

I must say, I don't have a problem with people making money off her death. You must remmember how she used the billionare elderly man many years back, and waited till he died so that she could inheret his fortune. I'm not saying that I don't care that she died, but she used people's deaths as well.

What money did she receive from that marriage so far ? ;)

It's been in court ever since ... I'm not saying She wasn't using people - But that has nothing to do with this conversation really.

If people want to build a "Tasteful" memorial site - Fine ....
If people want to build a site discussing her life - Fine.
But people aren't doing that ... They are selling these names on ebay :$:

The first site I seen made up my mind on this subject - as described above. Just an idiot trying to get traffic.

No one will ever Agree 100% on this anyway - No use in arguing over it.

As long as people can sleep at night with how they made their money - So be it.

Hell if you just type in Anna nicole in ebay search you will see tons of people trying to make a quick profit. Her bobble heads are now going for close to 60 bucks a pop and back when she was doing her show she practically gave them away.

Be it ethical or not people will always take advantage of death just for the simple fact that it sells.

Yeah - not the same one I seen .... not even in the same category ....

BTW - I removed the "active" link .... no need in giving them a link here IMO ;)

The one I was speaking of doesn't have ANY content other than vulgar remarks from a Idiotic Shoutbox ....
