Looking for some opinions on my newest purchase.

Short for amplifiers.

Don't know parking revenue yet, as I've just got it.

About $1.20 google top bid

Thanks,
John

You've got a great name here...guitar amps are amazingly expensive (I've been saving up to buy a good one for months now:)
This is a mid xx,xxx sale atleast

Contact Guitar Center or Marshall, or even Fender or Peavey. They should give you a good price on this one.
dont even think about selling this to a reseller. Companies like Marshall make millions of amps, and they can spare 1xx,xxx easily for this gem here.

Not only guitar amps but Car Audio Amplifiers is big business also...

Rockford Fosgate, Phoenix Gold, etc etc...

Nice name, xx,xxx min.

What did you pay for it?

Would prefer to keep the price private. I'll just look stupid by revealing it. ;)

I highly doubt that...
As a musician, I can tell you that amps are pretty much the most important part of my gear...and I need LOTS of them for a decent gig. All that amp power is BIG money. A decent Marshall amp doesnt come below $1500. Thats some serious money there...and the fact that competition in this business is very strong. There are just too many players: Marshall, Peavey, Line 6, Crate, Fender, Vox..

Definitely definitely send out emails to all the companies listed at Guitar Center who manufacture amps.

Plus all the car amp companies too. 'Pimping' your ride is the new deal these days, and the amp is the most important component of that...and expensive too.

Like I said, you can get 1xx,xxx very easily for this name for the right end user. Start a bidding war between the various companies, and you have 2xx,xxx+ in sales. You couldn't have paid more than that for this name, right?

Someone got Face.com appraised at DNF a couple of days ago. Thats a terrific name, highly brandable, but still..it does not denote an actual high value product. Amps.com represents an expensive product with lots of companies ALREADY dealing in it...so you have a ready market.

I agree. You would have had to pay a looooooooot of money to look stupid getting this name! Good luck selling it. I'd be very interested to know what it goes for...

Thanks everyone.

It seems it wasnt such a bad buy afterall. I knew they were high ticket items, not sure what the profit margin is like on them.

Might be worth partnering with a local music store to sell their product. They have stock and ship, I manage site, we split profit 50/50

The profit margin on them is HUGE.

Amps are pretty much like Big Screen TVs
Good ones are in the same range, and most amp owners are amazingly possessive about their amps (just like TVs)

Consider that Guitar Center sells some of its amps which are regularly priced at $900, at $200-300 during Thanksgiving, and STILL manages to make a profit...that means that the profit margin is huge.

I'm not sure if partnering with a local store would be a good idea...a local store can't really have that huge sales, especially online sales. Every little city has a Guitar Center which sells most of the equipment. The local music stores I know can barely turn a profit, let alone sell equipment online

Seriously, contact Guitar Center or the companies i mentioned above.

If you paid anything less than $25k you got a great deal. If you paid up to $50k you shoud still be happy..anything more and well...you better be an end-user. Yes this name could sell for $xxx, xxx BUT...realistically it won't.

That is an excellent Domain. I think you found a gem because Amps will never go out of trend as long as there are musicians making new music. Amps are used everyday in cars, computers, TV, concerts, etc. I am also curious of how much you paid for it because I am saving for such domain myself. Maybe you can use "x" as in $xx,xxx for the figures and not the real numbers. Cheers.

A friend of mine works for a local call center taking calls for a company called musicians friend. I don't know much about them, but I know as a wannabe musician he is always psyched about his job. (a rare thing these days) Apparently they have a pretty good rep and some elite clientel. It isn't at all unusual for him to recieve a call from people I would be exicted to chat with. (And I'm not nearly as much into music) Maybe not as big a name as guitar center and the like, but because of the nature of their business as a call center / shipping service, I suspect they would be far more able to put the name to good use. They may be a good target if you're looking for someone to partner up with rather than a buyer.

Aside from that I'm wondering why everyone suggests to sell the name. If I had a name like that I'd never give it up outright. (barring needing a new kidney or something...) I'd probably lease the name.

I'm still curious as to how much you have paid for this domain.
I think the people are right as to this domain being worth a lot.
Even if you paid a lot for it, you probably will get a lot more for it in return.

Its hard to put an exact value on it as I bought it with OAN.com in a package for mid/high $xx,xxx usd.

I think they were a good deal, but I value all the opinions, and I'm sure time will tell either way.

Mid/High xx,xxx for Oan.com and Amps.com is definitely a good deal.

Oan.com alone could fetch you 2x,xxx+, and this name could get you $1xx,xxx if shopped around to the right end user.
