Still new, but with 35 years of Financial expertise, I am dismayed at the incredible difficulties involved in buying and selling names. Who invented this incredibly cumbersome way of doing business.

We all have bought all kinds of items from Amazon, Walmart Online, Alibaba, etc with ease and within seconds.

Imagine if Amazon had a domain section... you would search for a name. You would immediately see if it is available from Amazon Registrar or if it was owned and for sale by someone. You could buy it in One-Click and it would be yours.

You would immediately pay for it with your credit card.... no escrow,no waiting for Paypal, no nonsense. I would immediately get an e-mail from Amazon telling me it's sold and your money, less 10% commission would be in my account...

Yeah, diamonds are sold that make the average house price look like peanuts, cars too.... it aint diamonds, cars or ( gosh ) ...real estate. So I say Sheesh !

Domains are easy to steal, hence mandatory waiting periods, escrow requirements, etc.. A domain is not like a house b/c it can be transferred between two or three owners before you know it's gone.

I do concur with the OP, it would be nice to have a second giant in the business similar to godaddy. The place where Amazon would excel at is taking payment. Amazon has all the info it needs on clients and in the end would be a more secure way to sell domains then GoDaddy.



I know lots of people who do not have godaddy accounts but I would really have to think to find someone without an Amazon account. I think that is what the OP is trying to say.

Amazon if they entered the domain name space would heavily discount fees for those domain investors that buy or have Amazon prime I'd have thought

Then the system is not working as it should. You should be able to buy any domain and be able to sleep soundly, without worrylng that some Russian hacker steals it away from you.

You are unable to connect the dots between a structure being built on vaccant lant & a website being build on a domain name?

I would assume you have never owned a website or built your own website then either?
