Ok before I even begin let me make it clear that im not poking fun at this condition at all . These are my own personal experiences with my 74 year old Grandmother
Recently MY 81 year old grandfather had a leg and a toe( go figure) amputated due to diabetes. About the same time My grandmother was diagnosed with alzheimer's . It amazes me when I go to their house everymorning what she does. Her Past memories are still pretty sharp. She can remember things that her mom use to do. But when it comes to short term stuff ( like ten minutes ago) she has no clue. So the purpose of this thread is for me to kind of vent to get this stuff off my mind and not really to make fun at all . SO with that being said I have to stories.I will add more as they happen
my grandmother has paid the bills for about 40 years. MY grandfather was in the hospital of and on for 2 months and when he come home he started getting notices from various CC companies and stuff saying the bills were not paid...She says she did. Well yesterday I come over and I got the mail out of the box. I set them on their counter and then I heard paper ripping. SHE WAS TEARING UP BILLS. I asked her what she wsa doing and she said it was all junk mail . ...lol
Today my Grandfather askes for oatmeal . She has been making him oatmeal for him everyday since they been married. Well today was different. Today she got the oatmeal, added water, put a spoon in it and servered it (without cooking) So she goes back in the kitchen grabs 2 sweet n lows, some milk, mixed it up, and was ready to bring it back to him (still not cooked) But I caught her before she did it.
Once again . I am just venting not making fun of the condition. I will not post anything else if anyone is offended by my words.
