Need help to get an appraisal of ALOO.com

Back i 1999 i wanted to register allo.com but it was already captured.
Allo was more normal word so I played with the words and came up with ALOO, which I thought could be a good word for branding later, and registered ALOO.com
I have had it for more than 10 years.

What you say the value of aloo.com domain alone?
and what is it value together with all the 16. other extensions?

What good could i develop from this domain?
social network?
is it a good name for a mobile company?

We also have
aloo.net
aloo.us
aloo.info
aloo.name
aloo.no
aloo.se
aloo.dk
aloo.eu
aloo.asia
aloo.mobi
aloo.vn
aloo.ru
aloo.co.in
aloo.im
aloo.me

Thanks in advance for all replies.

well i dont know about other ext.'s but aloo.com has huge dev potential and its also a pronounceable 4l.com , i would say 5-10 reseller and enduser sky is the limit.

And by the way Aloo means potatoes in Hindi and Nepali language

that's a good name and it's aged. Could go for $x.xxx to mid $x.xxx. Goodluck!

Yes. Thanks

There are a lot link too Aloo dishes & recipes. So I also found out that Aloo is potato.

ALOO is a very short catchy word that people remember.
Everybody says it's a cool name.
I think it's good for marketing and branding.

Back in 2000 when before the DotCom bubble bursted I got a xx.xxx $ offer for it but declined, because I had plans to do something.
But after 10 years and a lot of renewal fees I still wonder what to with ALOO.com

aloo.com and aloo.no do get advertisement income to pay all expenses for all extensions, and many hosting packages all this years.

i would say 5-10 reseller

With all due respect, I'm not really sure what gafadi is suggesting for price. If it is $5 - $10 reseller, then gafadi has found a place to buy all-premium LLLL.com domains (with desirable features) for less than it costs to get a decent meal in the US --- and I don't believe him. (NO OFFENSE, GAFADI)

If gafadi is suggesting $5K - $10K reseller, perhaps he does business with a "special" kind of clientele --- and I want in. (PM me, okay?)

Your domain -- aloo.com -- is brandable, pronounceable, contains all premium letters, begins with an "a" (desireable and in demand), ends with a double "o" (see where I'm going with this?), and means potatoes in Nepali/Hindi.

In my opinion, aloo.com is worth between $500 and $2500 reseller, but because you have the .net/etc. I believe you can expect at least $3K for the bunch, and probably closer to $5K if you were to have a well advertised auction. I don't know what the enduser leads are for this domain, and can't comment.

Great name, good luck.

10K seems far fetched, realistically from what I have seen in the market you are in the $2-4K range for the .com, and yes with the right end user that is with any domain any situation purely a hoop dream. Figure it this way, if you haven't done anything in the last 10 years, your not going to do anything with it in the next 10 years most likely. So if you can make good with a couple grand, take it and move on........ use the money to aquire a lessor domain or brand your .net, least you will have some money to develop.

Yes, the domain is a nice one IMO. A rare VCVV.com with branding potential. I'm not really sure a reseller would want all those extensions, that would be an ideal situation for an end user.

Reseller i would think around 2K.

I sold a VVCV.com recently for 4k to an end user, so i think 5k could be a realistic end user price for the whole package.

Sometimes these types of domains can surprise at SEDO auction, and im not sure if offerring the whole extention package would help or hinder the price if just pushed to a no reserve auction by a domainer.

You need to have good think about it (strategy) before selling.

Really good name, mid $x.xxx

resellers 17xx-25xx max
end users depend on whom you find. nice name though. remember this is not taking into account the indian meaning it has and its scope. that might fetch u a good deal from an end user.

$500-700 is possible.. Beyond that you need to be lucky..

There are a lot of good domains that have been coming online for sale the last few months. The competition has gone up a lot, so has the demand.. but there are some mega portfolios being sold/liquidated..

Mid $xxx in the worst case.

THis name will probably have a slightly underachieving sale(relative to its true potential) if you were to sell now,but within a year or 2, this name will be in the high $x,xxx for sure.

Thanks you everybody for giving your appraisal.
A lot of good comments.

As some of you mentioned I will probably not get any good price if I don't get an interested end user.
It's probably best to just keep it for later if I get on a good business idea or web concept that need a good name.
Because suddenly when you come up with a good idea then you don't have a good brandable name or domain name.
I have never thought of selling ALOO.COM undeveloped, and got confirmed by the help from your replies.

I should probably ask for business I can use this domains to :)

Kemjika11:

I just read this thread again and saw your suggestion of keeping within 2 year and this name will get higher value.
I don't think it will get much higher price without developing the site.
Back in 2000 i got almost mid xx.xxx $ offer. But wanted more. :(

What would give highest value if i developed ALOO! ? What value do you think?
1. Social Network
2. Mobile app store
3. Startpage
4. Marketplacepage for buy and sell of domains?
5. Music, Np3, entertainmetn site.

Thanks.

This "almost mid $xx,xxx" offer in 2000 is interesting because that was before LLLL was anything special and also before web 2.0 style domains had taken hold. Assuming the offer really was made, that was the offer of the century and there was no reason to have turned it down.

In any event..........

It's short and it's pronounceable, but it's just a so-so brand at best. It has loo in it, which is a toilet. If you can look past that, it fails the radio test pretty bad. aloo, alue, alu, alew, allu, allue, alloo, etc... So you are unlikely to find serious end user interest. Mostly because they could get apotty.com for regfee... j/k haha. (now let's see who grabs that first lol)

Low $xxx reseller, but it does have domainer's domain qualities so low $x,xxx is possible.

End user is very hard to say since there are no clear end users for names like this. So you can't go to them. They have to come up with the name themselves, see that it is taken and then hopefully contact you because they are so in love with it.

5. Music, Np3, entertainmetn site.
The value of these could be anywhere from $1 to $1 Billion.

Each of these has a low bar of entry though, so you'll have to do something special to spark interest. The social network obviously has the biggest upside, but is also the most difficult.

Honestly that name should be thrown in ALOO
$50-$100 purely because it is 4 char only

Quad premium LLLL.com go for $130 minimum and this is a VCVV.com, i think your appraisal should be "flushed".
