Hey Folks,

Right, I joined NP just over a week ago with a bright idea of buying and selling domain names and it seems others have too ;) Which is good!

I've read the FAQs sticky at the top of the newbie section and I've read almost every post in all four pages in the newbie section. Most of my questions have been answered, so thanks very much to all those who pass on their experiences and skills.

I am about ready to start my new venture and have some cash to invest (not loads) and was going to buy all sorts of domains until I learned a wee bit from you all. So, I have two accidental domains at the moment that I will work with to learn from before spending a penny!

Sorry, rambling on :red:

My question for now is.....

When registering domain names, should I be looking to buy the .com, .co.uk, .eu, org, .net etc of the particular domain name, or just stick with the .com?

The target buyers I will be going for will be mainly in the UK, but I like to think big, so the world will do ;)

It depends, I would maybe grab the .net and .org and not worry about the rest since most big names don't seem to care about the rest.

Personally I would focus on .co.uk then.

However be prepared to pay for quality :)

Acorn Domains forum is the biggest uk specific place so it could be worth asking there for tips.

good luck,
Rob.
