EDIT: So sorry, I posted this in the wrong section. Could the mods please move it to Domain Discussion? Thanks.

AllForDomains.com

Has anyone seen this place? Seems pretty intriguing. Here are their claimed stats:

Domains listed in June, 2007: 6,841
Domains sold in June, 2007: 2,597
Average selling price: $ 5,183

They say they advertise your domain to 12,000 opt in domain buyers.

The listing fee is $30 per domain, lower with more. You can also advertise your domain straight to the opt in list of all 12,000 at once for a fee of $335.

Any comments/opinions on this website? Legit? Worth it?

Thanks!

Hmmm. These guys used to be at the center of a huge appraisal scam going around a year ago. You'd get an email saying someone wanted to buy some new domain you regged, and asking for a price. Then they would automatically send the answer 'OK' to whatever price you gave, but they would say you needed to get an appraisal of your name first so they could see the 'proof' it was worth that. It was a total scam to drive lots of newbies to allForDomains, because they would email you a sham 'forum review' of allfordomains appraisals and how good they were.

That being said, we found a lot more to be wary of: like their appraisals are extremely overpriced, considering they're auto-appraisals which you can get free at places like estibot.com. Allfordomains also offers an e-certificate of the appraisal, it looks flashy but is worthless.

In addition, the 'domains wanted' area, where companies supposedly post their budgets and are looking to buy your names, we found to sound suspiciously all alike... like they post them there themselves, just to reel you into paying the fee you must pay to 'answer' the domains wanted posts.

Also, totally overblown and unsupported sales stats, and an unbelievable percentage of sales that just doesn't make sense.

There are other things too, but these are the major ones. There are threads about them here at Namepros, just type into the quick search field and they should pop up. I've contributed to a few of them :)

We basically found the whole allfordomains site to be a huge scam, a well-crafted false front that seems to give wonderful services, but is empty behind that facade and you'll lose money and won't make a dime; and it seemed to fool a lot of newbies. I think they make a lot of money still :)
