Okay guys, who hasn't seen this?
http://www.namepros.com/575560-np-system-revaluation-important-2.html#post3432962

i just got it forwarded to me by chance by another member who i was about to pay some np$
it's down in the info and suggestions section. somewhere i never go.
im guessing thousands of others dont

why weren't we sent a pm, an 'important' one to tell us about these changes?

basically the whole np$ system has been changed

i saw there was only like 9 np$ in my account but assumed that was from posting

especially as on namepros homepage it has said all week:
From the development team: The following services are offline or nonfunctioning at this time:

1. NP$ / NP Balance
2. NP$ Domain Management
3. NP Clicks
4. Highlighted Threads
5. Charity Ribbons

We hope to have these services available again by the end of Friday.

so i was waiting until friday patiently until my np$ were returned? fair assumption

also i sent 3 people, 3np$ other day each for joining a site
according to this new stuff, it should have been like 0.0017 or 3 times that or something! each

they may genuinely not realise themselves they have been wildly overpaid, so i have pmed them for a refund

what a balls up ?!

also its a bad idea anyway, imo, but have posted this in relevant thread.

mods: please leave this thread here as its designed to alert members about this mess up

i cant be the only one?
look at my posts. i certainly am here more than most and i didnt have a clue
unless im just stupid :snaphappy:
dont answer that

okay, anyone else???

edit:

i just seen the link at top of page about the np$ stuff
i switch off to a lot of stuff on page and really needed a pm about this. or could it not have been highlighted in another colour
again i have pmed members about refund

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
GoDaddyGoDaddy
I dont have as much post as you, but I did see that it was displayed on the top of each and every page. So I knew about the changes way before the changes began.

But maybe it would be better if members had gotten a PM instead. A PM would not have been overlooked.

thanks for posting
i agree pm was way to go

i must have seen:
NamePros Is Undergoing an Upgrade! - For an explanation of NP balances, click here

at top,

but because everyone knows np is going through an upgrade, and the full explanation running down right ,that i highlighted in first post, it said to me, np$ would basically arrive in account on friday, thats how i read it

4 people i basically paid about $3 not 3 old np$ it turns out D-:
i've pmed them
hope i hear back

i also think its a lousy idea regardless. from what i can see so far ALL members agree

please discuss guys.
what do you think about notification issues and also what about 'idea'?

I'm a little miffed that they revalued the NP$ in an unfavorable direction, from .02 to .017, and if we didn't like it we could trade it at the wonderful rate of .012. I had about $61.50 worth of NP money, and if the new NP$ is close to the USD, I lost almost $10 in the revaluation. Not a big deal, but think about how much $ the community lost in aggregate. I know members that had thousands of dollars worth of NP$ who lost hundreds.

I'm happy that an NP$ more closely represents a USD as it is less confusing, I just think they should have taken our current NP$ balance and multiplied it by 0.02 instead of 0.017... can't help but feel like I've been robbed. In a normal economy you expect these kind of fluctuations, but this is forum money.

What's to prevent management from "revaluing" the money so what we have becomes completely worthless and the only one making out is the NP bank and exchange? This has definitely made me lose my faith in NP$, I'm just glad I wasn't carrying a large balance.

Thanks for the link to the poll.

just imagine how many people Michael will mean to pay someone 0.02 np$ and send 0.2 np$

whats worse people from either side may not even notice

then when you do, you have the hassle of trying to get back

plus loads of pms to mods/rj etc

its a pain in the ...........

Thread will stay. The free market hasn't even had a fair chance to establish itself, but still I am interested if others also feel negatively about it.

In the two months prior to the revaluation, there were a total of 249,051 NP$ sold on the exchange for a total of $4,187.91. What does that work out to on average? What would you have done differently to revalue NP$?

If people don't know the difference between 2 cents and 20 cents, they may have a worse problem than I can help with.

Change is a vital aspect of life. Without change, you cannot develop and without development, you cannot adapt (and yes, change and adapt are synomonous, don't remind me). I understand this simple creed but -- who is to say that a change was worth undergoing? I've never really had a problem with the $np system before and I can't think of reading about any further problems devised from it. I understand the whole "NamePros needs a change!" mindset but... I thought change was supposed to be for good, for the betterment of mankind. Explain to me -- I'm really confused -- but how was revaluating $np a way of 'helping' anyone?

The old adage: If it's not broken, don't fix it.

i would have left it alone.
as archangel says correctly:

lol
people are multi tasking all the time. even us guys :sold:
easy mistake to make. and it WILL happen a lot imo, and you guys will be getting the pms not me, so your headache

i currently am now trying to get back $9 that i sent to three people
past few days. i got $3 back from the 4th guy
just a pain.

btw thanks for making the change really clear up top in red. think that will help

bear in mind some members may be away 2 weeks from this forum. come back. open pms from people asking for their np$, and ship across , then realise what happened. when being on forum. one example.

i havent sent pms your way or to mods yet as i am trying to resolve myself

for me the biggest problem was not the change, it was how it was effected. like i keep saying and have said in about a dozen posts with no answer, why wasn't a pm sent to members?
it's a nobrainer to do that. and free and you cover your arse in the process. as this is peoples cash you're dealing with.plus everyone would know. everyone reads their mail, if nothing else
