All GoDaddy auctions occur when I sleep. What can I do?

I'm located in Southeast Asia, meaning that all the auctions happening on GoDaddy I see on ExpiredDomains occurred in the dead of night when I can't bid on them. The domains I bid on during the day then get outbid at night.

Does anyone on who is on this side of the planet have a strategy for dealing with this? Should I be putting in a high proxy bid? Are there other auctions not on GoDaddy that end when it would be daytime in Asia? I'm feeling a bit defeated at the moment that I may never get to really be in the domaining game because of this issue...

Put a alarm and change your schedule please. It's problematic but no option is there, Godaddy will not alter their schedule.

Check Dynadot and Namesilo auctions also, GD Expired is very expensive now.

    Godaddy Auctions‘ inflated.. You’ll be alright;

    Recommend GD Closeouts; Avoid auctions.

Unless you can stay up late to attend the auction, or there is no way.

There was another auction/closeout marketplace I used to take advantage of (until they did a change in their auction policy) that had things ending in the middle of the night. I either stayed up or set my alarm.

In the case of godaddy, odds are if the name is of high value and/or the bots lock in on it you will likely always be outbid...your only option other than staying/waking up is to bid as high as you are willing to go and forget about it...just check when you wake up to see if you got the win.

    1. Don’t sleep
    2. Change your sleep schedule - sleep during the daytime
    3. Ask your wife/girlfriend to stay up at night

Set an alarm to bid or Make a big sale to move to California. (assuming the auctions time is PST.)

There is always an important auction that will end while you are sleeping. I usually stay up all night for that auction. It's all about setting up your priority list, for me sleeping comes at the end.

I wouldn't advise putting a high proxy bid & going to sleep. Just reorder your priority list & you should be good to go.

    Hi
when i first started in auctions, seems like i'd never sleep

also tried hand regging drops at precise time, and caught a few good ones too.

but some times, there is no time, for sleeping
especially if you're targeting a specific domain or you recently started and are trying to build a portfolio.

otherwise, just place your max bid beforehand and hope you win.

    imo...

    1. Set an alarm if the domain is very important for you.

    2. Put a proxy bid if the domain is not worth a sleepless night.

    3. Check if the domain is still available as a closeout when you wake up if you don't want to place a proxy bid.

    4. Look for other venues where to buy domains.

You can set your proxy bid, and check closeout in morning!
Finally, you can consider your sleep schedule.

There may be an opportunity here for like-minded NP members from different time-zones to work together bidding.

Can you please share some strategies to buy closeout domains? I mean what should be the ideal criteria to buy closeout domains because quality of these domains are also not very good.

These are the domains which domains refused to bid. So is it good idea to buy closeout domains?

Agree with the closeouts strategy. If nobody has bid, wait for the name to become a closeout. Unless you like increasing your costs :D

try to asking with Huge Domains, they are "always on"

even when the auction has 5 minutes remaining they can bid on multiple domains at once

    Amazing right?

GoDaddy has always been unfair to domainers.

You can just automate the whole process. Just ask them for API access maybe like HugeDomains and let your scripts handle bidding and everything.

    Cheers
