Wow, RL, I did not realise there were so many acronyms for ALF, and I have found your link very helpful indeed.
Thanks for that.
I had however, seen that Google brought up the animal liberation front, and was a bit nervous about registering this name. (I do not want to be constantly looking under my car, :hehe

, although come to think about it, I do that now.
Who was it who said, โjust because know one is out to get you, doesnโt mean you shouldnโt be paranoidโ
Only kidding, (Iโve got a loose exhaust), anyway, thanks for the input.
Thanks BD and Johnname, I never saw the TV series, but the pictures of Alf, look kind of cute, and very funny, (almost looks like one of my x girlfriends).
Thanks Ixex, for your input, and donโt worry, I was not having a go at anyone else on here, Re: Trademarks.
I was just trying to show, how difficult it is today, to register a domain name, without it being a trademark. So do not worry about your names.
As long as you do not use them in bad faith, and do not receive any commercial gain off them, linked to the trademark holder, you should be ok.
I say this with trepidation, because you will always get cases, backfiring on you, but most Judges, will see the case for what it is.
For example, if your son is called ALF and you put up a web site with pictures of him on it, then it will take a strange judge to side with the trademark holder.
Judges, get very annoyed, when they think their time is being wasted.
A recent reversal of a stupid case, happened recently with a car manufacturer, who had called itโs car, (I think) Zoรซ, and some (mad) father, took them to court, saying it would mess up the life of his daughter, also called Zoรซ, (I think she might have been called, Zoรซ Citroen) anyway, the judge threw it out, (I think the father might have had to pay costs),
I believe it says, in the Bible, to always settle out of court first. (Very shrewd, that Bible). :ghost:
Any way, do not worry.
I use the UK office for trademarks,
http://www.ipo.gov.uk/tm.htm
PILLS

Seasalt
http://www.ipo.gov.uk/tm/t-find/t-find-text/tmtsearch-default.aspx
(You need to put in the search term and change the drop down menu, to exact phrase)
And I also like to use the USA Patent office,

Good luck with your name everyone, and keep up the good work,
Kim
