Hi Corey,

Good question πŸ‘ β€” β€œcrys” showed up in the keyword ranking data because of a recent notable sale of CRYS.com for $10,750 at GoDaddy (Jan 2023). That kind of result often triggers a spike in search and monitoring activity for the same string, which is why it suddenly jumped +18,703 spots.

It’s not a common dictionary word, but branders may see it as shorthand for crystal / crystallize, or just a short, pronounceable four-letter .com. Sometimes all it takes is one visible sale to set off wider attention.

Good to see so many members are expressing their views on "crys".
Data may looks good or bad, it is the choice of individuals.
But its records are real as mentioned in namebio portal.
It is up to you to include it in your strategy or not?

It is not typo . The keyword "cry" is still in 5th place out of top 10 keyword search by domain investors. Source- https://namebio.com/trends .

I do welcome all members for their views.

Pl. keep your critical comments within certain limit.
That overview is not about sold domains, but about searches on the NameBio site. I wouldn't bet on that 'crys' keyword in this case, as it looks highly inflated.

Thanks for adding new insights to this thread that search (crys) are on NameBio site itself. But NameBio is an authoritative site used by large number of Domain investors.

I take the views of all members and particularly the experienced members including you, very seriously before investing. I just kept the data from a reputed site. Investment on domains with those keywords depends on multiple factors and it takes time to analyze.

on that keyword list crys is the one that makes least sense and yet i claim biggest jump

so I'm sure u know why u confused all. including yourself as u seem to say that u are not sure why or how crys jumped and say it could be this or that.

so why would I say it was maybe most popular search f no one here including u seem to know about it

Thanks Alcy,
Appreciate your take. The very fact that β€˜crys’ shows such an unusual jump is what makes it interesting to highlight.

Trends don’t always follow logic or existing awareness β€” sometimes they show us where attention is suddenly shifting, even if the reason isn’t obvious yet.

That’s the real value of NameBio as an authoritative resource: it captures activity across the investor community, not just what any one of us might expect.

If I create a link to a tailored search on NameBio, and post it here on this forum or Twitter, I can artificially inflate these numbers, too. Succes with the research.

but again.. why would one word not follow logic while all others are well know. plus the one with no logic has biggest jump

in world of domains such oddities dont really exist

That's very interesting to hear that you have such capabilities. May be I am wrong. But I take every new trend and research positively. Including your above idea too. I try to explore ray of light even in dark night.
