domains .AI Domains Are Hot. But for How Long?

But to me, that’s not the most important question.

The real story isn’t whether .ai is nearing its peak. It’s what .ai has already unlocked, and how that shift is quietly changing how founders think about naming.

Because no matter where we are in the .ai cycle, one thing is clear: it expanded the naming playbook. And that shift is here to stay.

Well if we say the average STR is around 1% and you think .si has a 20% chance of success then your math needs to work on a 0.2% STR.

Not much time, I bet on new GTLD's, I don't own any (.ai) but I m sure many of us would like to, I think the turn off is high renewals, I better buy a premium nGTLD rather than a name in (.ai) extension.

I don't use your math. I think I have 4 in 5 chances of losing my whole .si investment and I am fine with it.

Most of my names are .coms.

AI is the catch all term for all things artificial intelligence.

So even when other terms become popular, like:

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)

Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI)

and others, these still fall under "AI".

There will be other acronyms and trends, but I think the .AI domain extension will remain relevant for the next 5 years, if not the next 10 years.

We may see some usage of other domain extensions, for example .SI for Super Intelligence, but I don't think that will take off and it certainly won't capture an an entire sector like .AI has. Why would a company want to brand on .SI when they can use .AI that covers AI in its entirety
