Afternic Bulk Clearence Adult- Gambling Names

Just received this link in an email. It provides seperate links to Gambling and Adult lists,. Apparently, one customer is clearing out some names. The links are busy, as I haven't been able to get thru to the list, yet. I don't specialize in either area, but should be of general interest, nevertheless.

Hmm... It's not, quite, as large of a list as I was expecting but, interesting to see a sales listing site market names in this way- something I haven't run across before.

It appears the names are from "buy domains" as that is where you get redirected if you click on a name - then you have to get an appraisal from them - that is when I logged off!

Just order 2 ...just called the toll free number and placed the order over the phone...one went through..I have to wait for tommorow for the price authorization on the other though I ordered it anyhow..I have serious reservations that I'll get it for $50 based on the conversation..will update when the invoice(s) come

It says ask for a quote but it's not clear to me that you have to pay for it. Is that right? Do you have to pay for the appraisal?

from what I see now you have to call for the special pricing..perhaps they'll change it later

You can also just enter your information. I guess you don't have to pay for it, they probably do this as a way to get your contact information (and, probably, to ensure you're really serious).

Only listed and marketed through afternic..you have to buy from buydomains..

Again as it stands now when you call you can place the order and secure the name..if you email..well someone can probably call and get it first

Not a good way to do business :imho: I agree, It is definitely misleading!

I found a couple of good names, but I get a Buy Domains error when I click them.

Someone posted about BuyDomains liquidating names about 2 weeks ago, back when there were actually some really good names in the lists (see the first 6 in my sig). Ironically I was the only one who replied to the poster with any ounce of enthusiasm. Now it looks like Afternic is apparently helping sell the leftovers.

So about 2 weeks ago, if you had about $10k or so to burn, you probably could have gotten names about 10 times better than the best on that list for $50 a pop.

Is this some sort of bait & switch tactic? I was browsing through the lists & clicked one name in particular. The price was listed as $700. I thought they were $50 a piece or as low as $20 in bulk.
