Oops, Afternic still has gambling names

Just one search by one member in Afternic finds over (100) gambling names allowed for sale on one day, Dec, 26, 06.

If only one member found over 100 gambling names, how many have they let in?

Personally, I am pleased not to be a member there. I think I would be pretty pissed about how they run the new auction house.

Just go to home page and search the word "bet". Just that one word. I wonder how many names they have been allowing in?

Personally, I think it stinks, all the work I had to go thru taking out my hundreds of names and then just the one word "bet" has tons and tons of gambling names. Its ridicoulous.

Afternic didn't produce any results at all. It doesn't matter to me if they keep few bet names or not. The ridiculous is not that left few gamble names but their decision to wipe them all

A featured homepage spot i had there took less pageviews than a normal entry in sedo, go figure

Yes, very true.

They are getting less traffic to the Afternic site, overture scores 245 for the past month. I agree the the names left in and the ones being imported daily (gambling names) are not the biggest issue, the decision to not allow them is. But it is making members very mad.

Much talk about the company and why they cannot do a simple filter of names.

As I am not a web developer as such I have no idea if it is difficult or not. But it would seem if they make such a huge decision, they should be able to filter out domains such as the hundreds found by a single member recently that have "gambling" in it.

The root to gamble which is "bet" is is a name that seems easy to filter, but look at the word "bet" in a Afternic search and you will find all kinds of betting domains.

But names like "play poker" are blacklisted fast.
