Afternic Bazaar

Anybody else seen this?

I ran into it while doing a review of Afternic for DomainNameReview.com. Its supposed to be a Wholesale Domain Name Auction. This is really interesting to me since I sold NameBazaar.com to the owner of Afternic a month or so ago.

Hopefully, this will be a great new outlet for selling our names. Only time will tell tho since its not even open yet.

I didnt see this and i was there earlier so its either I am blind or they put it up recently.

I probably noticed it because I sold the name to him. Otherwise, I might have missed it too lol.

Its a good name, but I know that he can do a lot more with it than I could. I have a couple of backups with namesbazaar.com and urlbazaar.com though.

They have been talking about setting up a special auction for lower priced domains for a few months, from what they have said in the past it should be a good place to get rid of lower price domains that previously would not have sold on afternic because of the $60 escrow fee.

Can't wait for the 1st when it opens

I put some proxy bids in on a few domains I like and also listed several. This is something the industry really needs. I hope they get a lot of support. Wholesaling is a major part of my business strategy and produces thousands of dollars a year. This could multiply that several times over.

My thoughts exactly, Duke. I wanted something like this with NameCart/NameMart, but of course I don't have the traffic they do to pull it off.

I hope they succeed because it could really help us all.

Ogre, thanks for the reminder about NameBazaar.com and a pleasant transaction back in October. (I just now changed the contact info and URL redirect on that domain.) We also picked up DNbazaar.com - that one happened to drop about two days after we decided to use the name "bazaar." But we'll probably stick with our 3rd level domain.

My brother Michael came up with most of the ideas for the new auction, but I picked the name. The name is fun. Sounds like bizarre and that fits with the declining prices. And "Bazaar Bucks" is a nice alliteration.

Did not know you were on here . I have not sold a name on Bazaar yet, but I may pick up a few names there since the prices fall so fast :hehe:

I sold 3 of the first 5 names sold on Bazaar, and have also bought a couple (with bids out on several more). I love it!
