AdSense.com finally belongs to Google

Adsense.com finally belongs to Google as of 31 October 2006. Wow, I'm guessing the firm owning it eventually sold the domain to Google for $$$$$(X) and all the employees can now retire in peace...

Not as funny as it first seems.

There have undoubtedly been numerous occasions where the main asset of a company, by far, was the .com domain it landed in the early nineties.
More and more, these companies will cash these names in and just find a lengthier alternative.

The were sitting on a future goldmine they were probably completely unaware of at the time of purchase.

Google should had to acquire adsense.com before giving the ADSENSE name to its publisher ad network. wired news. ADSENSE.COM created on 24-feb-1997 and google.com created on 15-sep-1997, Wired

Looks like Google found a way to get Adsense.com from the new buyer, and it's possible that thay didn't have to pay too much as well since the new buyer probably didn't have any relations to the Adsense name at all...

I'm forever entering Adsense.com... but why havent they redirected it to adsense.google.com??! How annoying.

I think eventually Google will direct the url to its adsense section. It (the acquisition) shows Google is serious to keep developing adsense and its here to stay for as long as Google is around...

So Adsense is alive and well...be not in doubt anymore :hehe:
