Has anyone had any issues in the last few days with their ads? I'm either getting no ads displayed or only one ad is showing. This just happened in the last 2 days. Has anyone else had any issues with them in the past day or two?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I've noticed that AdMob has updated their site, adding case studies and an AdMob forum.

i just started an admob ad campaign and targeted the US only. My account dropped by $3 in less than an hour (at 0.05 clicks).

Here is the stats from statcounter:

18 40.00% India
10 22.22% Sudan
7 15.56% Canada
5 11.11% United States
4 8.89% China
1 2.22% Mexico

That's pretty disappointing.

Strange they are serving your ad in India and Sudan when you focused on the US. Was this for LYP?

yes. it was for lyp. Another problem that I see is that you cannot see where the traffic came from. It shows no referring link. I don't know if that is because it is a mobile ad, if it is too soon to get that information from admob, or if statcounter doesn't support mobile ads well.

I approved you for my sites, but did not click. Recognized the moniker. I think you need to be contacting them.

I have noticed a flood of ads coming from the same source in my accounts. They appear like this in my account:

Global Reporo: FREE Chatrooms. Hot guys & girls 4u

All from the same URL:
Reporo: FREE Instant Messenger. MSN YHO ICQโ€ฆhttp://www.reporo.com/wap/im.jsp?s=Admob...

They are saturating the adspace with perhaps 12-20 different ads all paying a whopping 1 penny on a stated paying up to 2 cents.

Right behind it is someone releasing hundreds of these:

Good news,

A new advertiser has requested to advertise on fux.

Ad name : Asia Pacific-Bangladesh
Ad text : 20,000 Recipes
Click url : http://www.20Krecipes.com?cc=AsiaPacificBangladesh
Bid : $0.05

Please visit AdMob and approve or decline this request in the "my sites" area.

http://www.admob.com/my_sites.php

Regards,

The AdMob Team

I got 78 messages within minutes, all from the same company, all recipes of different countries. I had forgotten to turn my filtes off on one in the account.

The 1 penny thing is a pain in the ass as it is every where.

I would like to see some improvements from the publishers perspective as well. The UI is pretty clunky and I wish I could give priority to .mobi ads in my sites.

I would also like to see a batch delete option. Scrolling thru hundreds of ads to find one to delete it, then having to do the same thing over and over and over and over....

I had a pretty quick response for support. Let's see what they do to explain things and possibly fix a bug.

I wish you could target traffic on the publisher side too. LYP is just US listings right now so that is the geo I'd like to target too.

Painfully slow. Plus it would be nice to open and close the ad list per domain. That gets to be one heck of a long window to scroll through with anything more than 3 domains.

Very nice suggestions for admob to improve. I think someone need to put it all togather and post it on admob forum at http://forum.admob.com.

I also had similar questions. I emailed them a couple of days ago and got a response today. I thought I had done something wrong when I inserted the code when I was only seeing 1 ad. I also asked if the ads rotated with the highest bid coming up first. Here is the response:

"The highest bidded ad doesn't necessarily get shown first โ€” which ad gets shown is affected by a number of factors, including both bid and expected CTR. The ads are shown to maximize your expected revenue, and this isn't necessarily done by just showing the highest-bidded ad.

Looking at your site stats, there is a good spread of ads that have been shown. The normal reason that a single ad appears every time a particular user (in this case, you) visits the site is that is it the only (or one of few) ads that are targeted to their particular location, carrier, and device type. Your sites stats is a better place to get a sense for what the activity on your site looks like."

Thought I would share this info with everyone. :)
