Administrative contact of a domain? What does it mean exactly?

Hello,

I will register some keywords with an exotic cctld, but I cannot register it without having a person from that country the administrative contact person.
What does it mean? What can he do with the domain since I would be the owner? Is it safe to buy a domain in this way (they say that at any time I can change my administrative contact).
Did somebody have similar experiences, or simply what should I do? Register or not?

I believe you can change the admin contact whenever you want...but it sounds to me like the registrar for your TLD has a rule that the admin contact must always be a resident of that country. So it sounds like you need to find someone in that country willing to serve as the admin contact. I'm thinking the registrar may be able to refer you to a person/company in that country who is set up to provide an admin contact service. Let us know how it goes for you.

Actually the country is really exotic and small, and I want to know about the risks of registering in such a country.
Can the administrative contact of a domain name do something harmful to me?
Are there any precedents? Or is it completely risk free?
Sorry, it is a newbie question but would thank a lot if you could advise me.

The administrative contact usually refers to is the person who is financially and administratively responsible for the domain. I would think that person typically has complete control of the domain. However, I think it also depends on the ccTLD you are dealing with. Maybe they have different rules. You are not giving much information about the country you want to register the domain(s) with so it is hard to say.
