What is the percentage that you spend for your domain assets?

1. Hand regs.
2. Expired aftermarket.
3. Purchases from existing owners.

I believe the best strategy for acquiring domain assets is through motivated sellers. What is your experience?

Maybe 1% hand registrations
Lately, maybe 14% expiration's/snaps/pre-releases (down a good bit from the past)
85% aftermarket (of these, I'd say 90% bearing a registry date of 2003 or earlier, save for a few .US purchases I've made)

Overall, though, 2% emphasis on "domaining" and acquiring names for acquisitions sake, with the remaining 98% emphasis being on developing the names we already have into operating businesses and managing those.

All domain names are hand regs.
I prefer only new domain names for me and for my business

80% expired domains that fell through the auction houses picked up for reg fee
10% domains that were given to me on a brokerage agreement
9% hand regs
1% bought from previous owners/auction houses

I figure this is a good guess would take me a bit to calculate exact percentages.
