Wheres the best place to do an accurate whois search?

For example, I registered a dropped domain yesterday, yet the whois page is still showing the old info.

Is there a single source, like verisign, which has realtime info?

I don't think realtime is possible unfortunately.
It usually takes a minimum of 24 hours for whois to be updated.

Are all good ones.
But there are no realtime ones that I know of. I mean, the whois servers have to update though hundreds of thousands of domains daily, it's just not possible to update them so fast.
