how would I choose to have a good keyword for my domain? I want to get a right topic in order to be indexed in google but not being spammed.

But there was a row about backlinks because link exchange and spammers were hammering this technique and heard one of the web developers saying that backlinks are not in fashion anymore especially after some Panda update from Google, but could be wrong. As far as information i have gathered, meta tags, title tags and snippets play a major role.

Backlinks from quality sites and high PR sites is still the biggest mover for your domain. Backlinks from link exchanges are probably negative effect these days. Again. Any links should appear natural.

There's no one way to rank in Google. Really you just want to follow best practices - good domain, good html (titles, meta, etc), good content, and good back links. If you're doing anything other than that, you're just wasting your time.

Also, with whatever you do, it will take time for you to rank and climb in rankings.
