The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

When it comes to keyword and domain name then you should use your main keyword in domain name, there is no problem, also try to use top extensions like .com, .net, .org etc.. if your website is country specific then use extension related to that country location..

Your domain name should be ideal to your business or the category you wish to promote. Choosing a domain name is far from indexing it in Google. SEO is the major part of getting a good rank in Google. Meta tags, title tags and keywords all are important apart from having a catchy domain name.

make your sound credible and related for users, you don't have to put every keyword in it to please search engines

Is this for business or personal website? What does your business do, or what are your personal interests? Normally you'd want a .com domain for a business. For a personal website it could be any extension, but .com is always better. What is your budget? RegFee? Or can you afford to buy a domain in the market?

I think you cannot register any useful keywords any longer in .com. They've been taken years ago. But you might find something on the big auction houses/drop-catchers. Auctions: Sedo, Afternic, GoDaddy, Drop-Catchers: SnapNames, Namejet. I find it useful to search GoDaddy (the biggest Registrar by a long mile) every day. They have thousands of domains dropping every day, and it's only $5/yr to join their auctions. You can search for free.

I think this was a canned answer from SEO expert. Just missing a link to subscribe to their services.

So you have the domain already? Then you can choose any keyword you like under the sun for the meta-tags, title, and text. Preferably relating to your content on your website, and domain name.

As you have the domain name then you can find the relevant keyword, you can take help of Google Adwords keyword tool as well, it is going to help you, I think..... you can create site on Wordpress as it is easy..

Don't repeat your keyword(s) too many times in your text. They have to look natural in the confines of your text. Not blatently repeated.

what you mean by "alternate names for your pictures." ? can you please specify... thanks..

Web crawlers do not recognise any images even though they are advanced hence even images have to have some sort of text attached which could be done via the <alt> tag. If you view source of a page, look for - <a href="/index.php"><img src="/getImage.php?src=pic.gif" alt=""></a>. You can enter the alternate details of the image. This corresponds to all the images in the site. The above mentioned html code is just an example but this is how it would appear. Alt tags are also important as web crawlers could relate to the image texts. Generally, it should be straight forward in couple of words.
Hope it helps.

After having an EMD algorithm update Google is more strict on domain that include keywords in their domain but website has very less authenticity and popularity. If you are using keywords in domain name only for SEO than now this strategy will not work to rank your website in top result of Google search engine.

It is not so!

EMDs are still ranking good, you can have a look on SERP.. the thing is you have to do quality work..

In last EMD update, those domain names were penalized which were spam sites mainly..
