Shouldn't appraisals stick to wholesale vaue and an attempt at end user value? When they say low xx Undeveloped and high xx developed. IMO makes no sense first off building a site increase a name say $50? If it is develpoped the value is in the sites look, business plan, and marketing and advertising.

A name is a name so the appraisal is just the name value. Did the name Google really become a better name because it became a Great Company ? Google in 1996 would have been appraised Reg fee now its name value is in the Business they have built not the name itself. I think when someone today looks for an appraisal they are just talking about the name. JMO

Sometimes marketability is changed by the development, sometimes not.

For instance: BigOlWidgets.com has potential to be remembered

but

SortaCleanierCarsMadeAroundHere.com even with development is lacking.

Or more realistically:

52cars52.com isn't nearly as valuable as a name when developed as opposed to

52classics.com would be, although both could have the same content.

That's sort of my take on it, at least.

taking google's example I would say that the company and the development and traffic matter more than actual name.
