I have been away to Rothesay for a weekend of drinking. On Sunday we were coming back and the usual banter was taking place. 1 Particular person who was getting a bit of slagging seemed asleep until someone noticed his head roll a bit.
After someone had a quick look they noticed that his eyes had rolled and he was not breathing. A mate tried opening his mouth and ensuring he was not swallowing his tongue but could not get his mouth open. After a minute he suddenly came to life. He looked extremely white and down but otherwise he seemed OK. We got him outside and got him to eat and wonder about a bit. On the way home we were stopping off to get something to eat and we were nearly there so we got back on the bus and continued on our journey (obviously keeping him awake and checking on him). The mate who revived him phoned ahead and let them know what had happened (although he guy who was ill was protesting he was OK).
When we got to the stop off point (passing by a health centre which was unfortunately closed) another mate (who was not travelling with us) gave him a check over and kept an eye on him, he ate a bit and had plenty of fluids and really did seem to come back to life, he was laughing and joking etc. and seemed just hung over.
We eventually got home and all went our separate ways, he got a lift home I got a taxi in the other direction. Then last night I get a phone call, it happened again and he is now in intensive care at our local hospital. His family apparently have a history of heart problems.
The guy who phoned me last night is the 1 who revived him and he was talking of how he thought he was dead when he was trying to get him back.
