A unique design...is it a little too unique?

Hi all,

Just came up with the design for my newest website, its very unique and I dont know what you all will think. Please note, only the homepage has been completed and there will be another block of text under the first heading as there is under the other 3.

Please tell me if you like the colors, layout, navigation and header.

the colours of the content are great, however, it seems a little pointless, hope you dont mind me saying, to blur the cars out - if its a car site - show them off! i want to see them!


The nav is a little too dark for me, but I'm not a fan of drop shadows or what ever it is you have used, keep it crisp and clean, everything else looks great, well done!

Agreed...don't blur the cars and maybe leave the colors on them? Also, maybe center the page.

thanks RJ, I liked the idea of the origional header, but it just wasnt working out like I had planned, so I went with something simple and pleasant...

making 750x125 pixel headers for car sites is surprisingly difficult...I have designed many but dont feel any of them are that amazing

any more feedback?

The new header has a very regal feel. I think it would appeal more to older, prestige car drivers than sports, IMO. That's not a criticism, just a comment though

Yea...maybe change the car because I think it's reviews for sport cars no?

Maybe put a ferrari or the new 05 Corvett with wind streaks

Also..I don't really like the font, doesn't blend in much with the image.

The new one looks good. I agree that the black font in the graphic could be changed, but it's not a big deal.

looks like a merc crossed with a rover 75 to me
its a cut and shut job :p

Oh, that gave me an idea

Maybe you could make it a dynamic banner - which changes each time some one loads the window.
