Design review

Hi all,

Please could you tell me what you think of this design? I'm looking for ideas to improve it. It's missing something but I can't put my finger on what:

I'm more concerned with the layout than the coding and text, but any comments are welcome.

Good job. I think you're right--it seems to be missing something along the top between the red block and the 3 jpgs--there seems to be too much white space. Other than that I like the design alot!

Very nice site, I like the minimilistic, fresh feel to it, and it looks very professional too! I do second the opinion given by designmorgue, although I feel as if we're becoming awfully picky with it. Keep up the good work!

No not picky at all!

I agree I think more use should be made of that. Any ideas?

Someone suggested just making that section have a coloured background instead of white?

I think the text needs breaking up somehow but not sure how. It's funny, the hardest sites to design are the ones for yourself!

Hi,
I really like your design, im a fan of the simple look myself

Maybe you could try something with the outside, there is a huge area of white outside your content, maybe try using a very pale grey, just a few shade up from white for the background. I took a screen shot i done it in paint just to see what it looks like and it seems to work, and pulls the eye more to the content rather than the white spaces around. You could maybe even add a drop shadow around it. Just an idea

hmmm, usually the best way to break up text is with a few nice images, though i dont know if it will be over doing it with the 3 in the top right corner, though I wouldnt worry about it, as its not obvious to a normal viewer (the only reason these things stand out to you is because you made it, which is why it seems much harder to do a decent site).

About the White space, I took a page outta harro's book and played with different BG colors in paint, I found using a slightly off white colour with a red tinge looked quite nice. I suppose you could always experiment with the idea to find what suits you best, but I found that it certainly takes any strain off the eyes. Though I think if you try putting something too obvious there, it will just interfere with your logo.

Hi,

Nice and clean layout...
Maybe some light gray backround image under the 3 pictures in header.
Dont like blue sky footer image...maybe gray image would be better.

I like the site.

There is a lot of white space in the upper left. You could fix it by raising the logo so the the red block is shorter, and ultimately raise the whole top section.

Another option would be to drop a background picture there. A nice colorful sky or something like that.
