Hello guys, I'm new here, and new in general to this world that named "Domains"

A few days ago I bought a few domains, and I wanted to ask a few questions to know something about selling domains.
my questions are all related for selling domains.
I just bought domains to sell them.

- I bought domains from GoDaddy, should I wait 60 days to be able to sell my domains?
- I also bought the auction membership of GoDaddy so I'll be able to list my domains for sale, was it necessary for now?
- I also created a sale of a domain on Sedo, should I keep it or should I wait 60 days before placing a sale there?
- Using Paypal for selling domains is good?

I might come up with a few more questions later, but just for now I would like to know the baiscs of selling a
domain.

Thanks in advance.

Hello.... Welcome to Namepros!

- I bought domains from GoDaddy, should I wait 60 days to be able to sell my domains?

You can list your domains for sale immediately in Sedo, Godaddy, afternic, flippa and other marketplaces.

No need to wait for 60 days. You can push (Account transfer) your domain to another godaddy account in 5days.

But you have to wait 60 days if you want to transfer other registrar (Eg: Godaddy to Namecheap)

- I also bought the auction membership of GoDaddy so I'll be able to list my domains for sale, was it necessary for now?

Yes its required If you want to use Godaddy auction marketpalce.

- Using Paypal for selling domains is good?

You can use paypal if the transaction is low XXX better use escrow service for higher transaction.

Hope this helps.

Hey, I just come up with another question, hope you'll be able to answer me once again.
Is it fine to try and sell the same domain name at a various sites, like Sedo and GoDaddy Auction?
Is it fine to do that?
What if I do that and I'll get bids from both of the sites, what am I suppose to do in that case, in case it's possible and allowed to do that.

Yes you can list your domain in multiple market places at the same time.

But you shouldn't list your domain as BIN (Buy it Now) in more than one place.

For Example : you can list your domain in Godaddy as "BIN" but if you want to list in sedo, afternic, flippa then you should list the domain as "Make offer".

Or you can simply list make offer in everywhere if you want, but the point is you should not list as BIN in more than one place.

IMO, listing in various market place helps to attract more eyeballs compared with listing in one place.

You do not have to wait 5 days to do a domain account change at Godaddy.

You can push it to another Godaddy account within seconds after you purchase the domain and it says active in your account.

You DO have to wait 5 days after initial registration of a domain to do an account change!

It states on GoDaddy support this:

"NOTE: A domain name must be in active status to change accounts. Account changes can only be performed 5 days after the initial registration. Domains that change accounts will have a 10-day transfer lock for fraud protection."

Here is the link:
https://support.godaddy.com/help/article/822/moving-a-domain-name-out-of-your-account

I found this out while trying to do a transfer on a domain that was reg'd 3 days prior.

ANOTHER THING:
DO NOT
List a domain in an auction at more than 1 market. You will run into bad issues if you do. It is also a violation of the markets terms.

Here is Sedo's exact message:
"However, once a domain is entered into an auction the seller agrees to exclusively list, market, and sell the domain through Sedo and its affiliated marketplaces (e.g. GreatDomains) until the close of the auction."

Here is the link to Sedo's page:
https://sedo-us1.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/572/~/can-i-list-my-domain-for-sale-elsewhere?

Think about it. If you have an auction going at more than one site and it sells and the auction closes, how are you going to fulfill your end of the transaction? This will get you penalized by the marketplaces, even banned.

YOU CAN list it for sale at more than one market/site but NOT in an auction listing, just a for sale/classified/etc...

Just make sure that after you sell a domain, you remove it from all sites it is listed on.

Ulterios, don't worry what it states, buy a domain name today and do a change of accounts to another one of your Godaddy accounts, bet it will go through.!

Yes that was updated on the site and maybe has not populated all the way through yet, but I have never run across that 5 day hold yet.

One other theory I am working on is that Godaddy is all about the email, if it is bought in an account with an already verified email it may not apply.

I have run across it happening to me twice. One recently and one around the end of December.

One was 3 days old and the other was 4.On the one recently I called GoDaddy and spoke to them and they said I have to wait for 5 days. IDK if maybe they have some other stipulations but the page I posted here that says 5 days is the exact same one that GD support directed me to.

Besides, I done't think he is going to have to worry about the 5 days hold. His domains will probably not sell till after that anyway.

IDK if maybe GoDaddy has different rules for different countries or some other factor that the 5 day hold is applied to. All I know is it happened to me twice. A few months back this same discussion was on this site and the OP had to wait for 5 days as well.

Interesting enough I have bought and sold domains almost everyday day for the past 10 years from the drop or hand reg at Godaddy and resell about 80% of them within 48 hours after reg.

I bought one yesterday, sold pushed to customers account.

I bought one today at 11:22am PST and it will be sold and pushed to customers account by the end of the day.

That would suck and I would probably blow up the Godaddy reps with complaints if they really implement that but I have a work around just in case...
