The new bi-weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com. Everyone, no matter what kind of domains they like to invest in, will find something to like on our latest all extension Top 20 Domain Sales Chart. As usual a .com set the pace but it is very rare to see one that is three words long sell for $350,000!

The #2 domain is a one-letter ccTLD sale that just missed the six-figure mark. The non .com gTLDs also got into the act, claiming the #3 spot with an angelic $85,000 sale. You can get all of the details here: https://www.dnjournal.com/archive/domainsales/2024/0515.htm

A 3 letter .com sold for 65k and a 13 letter 3 words .com sold for 350k. It's all about the demand / buyer & patience.

Or, maybe there's more to it than just the number of letters.

Domainers love abbreviation domains because there are so many potential use-cases, hence easy to sell. But abbreviated brands are not necessarily effective. Weight Watchers learned this when trying to rebrand to WW after acquiring ww.com, and now they're back to weightwatchers.com, and marketers are fully aware of this.
