It will be interesting to see who bought it and what use they put it to, for $1200 bucks 9NU must have some specific meaning to the buyer that it doesn't have to me..

Hello,

I dont think the buyer has specific meaning with domain.
9nu.net is listed at high traffic @ the sedo website:

1. (14.) 9nu.net daily hits 39878

I think thats were the price comes from

I hope it wasn't based only on that, those stats are about as reliable as an ICANN brain cell.

it has lot of links (PR 4) and looks like it was a proxy directory

I you notice the sites which link to it are all high traffic proxy sites.

a little research goes a long way....

i know this was a proxy site simply look it up in archive.org..........
I think this kind of traffic will raise this price ............. i dont know about the trafficstats @ Sedo lasher..........but i think if it only was 10% of the stats a fair price would be 1200$

Niiiiiiiiiice. Isn't the 9 used for the letter G? Could mean GNU which means general public license? Free software?

There's an enormous difference between a traffic domain and a traffic website. I'm not fond of high traffic domains offered for sale at sedo. High traffic websites are easier to research and validate/discredit. I just sold a traffic website for a little over 9nu.net's price and it was in the top >100,000 unique visitors/mo range.
