Recently received an offer by email for a certain domain of $8,988.
Like to get some opinons prior to letting it go. Am I reaching the potential at the price? It's a broker who offered. Prior to that I received a $3,388 for the domain from what i think was an individual. I almost jumped the gun there but held on. When have i hit the point of holding on too long? Inbox me and I will let you know domain. Dont want to post it and then the offerers see that I'm questioning it. It's obvious by the offers as to the market. it's a

Watch out for appraisal scam.
What do you mean? Try to get me to send them the domain up front or something? I'm still new to domaining. Made a couple sales in the $200 range so far.

"we want to buy your domainX.com for 10k, but first we'd like to appraise it using link below"
and then you click link, pay to appraise it for them... and they never buy domain.

I think something like that...

so if in first email you got there was no link to anywhere.. and you reply to it and say OKAY!
and then they reply and still no link.. .then you may be onto something.

Their email went more like we saw the domain in the new registry. We want tto know if you would be interested in selling it to us. Please fill out this form at xxx.com and we will get back to you. If you wish to receive no more emails from us please click here. Form ask for no money to appraise domain. This is the last email I received that hasn't made offer yet. Prior emails just read we would like to offer you xx amount for said domain name. One stating they had a client who would like to offer. The first was just an I would like to offer.

This last one I just stated to them I would entetain any offer they had. If it was unpassable I would consider. If it was close to my others I would get them together and auction it. I've nver heard of this 3rd interested gr
oup. That does not mean much as i'm new to domaining, but i'm not new to there are tons out to scam you either. This last party who was interested was smd.net im sure you can figure out the letters

Well if anyone is offering 10 grand for my domain, they can spend another $100 to backup their investment is all i have to say. You offered it so you justify it. I'm not buying a $10 appraisal for anyone.

well.. as soon as yoru potential buyer asks you to go to any site or link tghey give you to continue negotiations or other reasons, I usually click "mark as spam".

but.. I am sure you will get to the bottom of it... make sure you do not pay anything to them to sell your domain .. cause its supposed to work the other way around.. where they pay you

good luck
bye

Yea, as much as i'd like to flip it I'm not that intrigued by the numbers. Nothing to make me go put something on credit ya know. I apprciate the advice though. that's worth more than the domains.

For sure. No way I'm paying to sell anything. Not like i approached them asking them to buy. I had it parked. and they obviously did not visit the site b/c it was listed for sale for only $449. They coulda got it pretty cheap. i changed it to taking offers.

Not a typical offer.
I use to get those things all the time till I privatized my whois.
Don't be greedy, I would just send them to the DLS where you have it listed to make a 'official offer'.
When they have some verifiable skin in the game, you can take them serious.
So just take your offer and make it a BIN and don't waste your time with it.
If they truly want it for that sum, they will waste no time. No excuses.
The tools are there, you just need to use them.
