In the next five years, all 650,000 villages of the country will be connected by internet. Union minister of state for communications and IT Sachin Pilot said.

Pilot stressed the need to extend high speed broadband to all Indian villages and development of regional language applications but underlined that the it is expensive to deliver essential services to such far flung areas.

This is a good thing for the internet scene in India, think 35000 villages are already connected for weather and market updates.

Not sure if this will translate to higher resale prices for domains, even though demand is sure to go up in general for domains.

There are a lot of rich farm owners, specially since there is no tax on agri income, so there will be a small percentage of sales which will occur to these people.
