Hey all,

I've seen a few people suggest that we lower the 60 seconds between posting rule. What does everyone think about lowering it to 30 seconds maybe?

I know i've been here many times waiting to post something.

Just a suggestion. :)

By the time you type a reasonably thought out message 60 seconds will have elapsed. I also think it helps cut down on the spammy, mindless posting.

I never even noticed it till it stopped me the other day :)
so, over 300 posts and it just affected me...not bad :IMHO:

I have been fine with the 60 seconds. It seems to cut down the spam and make people put more thought into some of their posts. 30 seconds is almost a little short. 60 seconds goes by fast! ;)
I agree. If it takes you less than 60 seconds to write two messages, then they're probably one-line, unnecessary replies.

Righto!

Correct B-) !

That is the reason why the 60-second rule was introduced and added to NamePros; to encourage more well-thought out responses/posts/ideas, etc. at the same time cutting down on S.P.A.M. :gl: .

Thanks :tu: !

im fine with 60 seconds, because i type fast but I do a "little" research before I post = 60 seconds and way past 60 seconds.

I hardly ever get the message telling me to slow down - it's good as it stops people posting like mad for NP$.

It can get annoying ut yes it probabaly does cut down the ammount of spam, and you very rarely will post 2 messages within 60 seconds

I have had this message recently, and i do find it annoying. i think it should be 45 seconds and not 60

It annoys me alot of the time, Just gets In my way, I post quite quick, And move on very quickly to something else. But I understand its for spam prevention. Maybe you could make a system so people who have been here for a certain amount of time can get it lowered a bit, or if they have a certain amount of posts.

Just an Idea that might make it alot easier for some hardcore Np'ers! :D

Ya, it would be nice to be lowered to 30 seconds, however; I see where the Namepros came from when they decided to make it 60 seconds.

It doesn't really bother me, I only ever get it sometimes when I'm on the appraisals board, because some appraisals don't require much thought. Its fine the way it is, reduces spam, and probably decreases load on the server.

ha, i am ok with 60 sec rule,

but maybe lower to 50 sec ?

yea, appraisal dun need much info actually. Spam can be reduced too bu moderators out there, but ya, about the case of 300 post in a day is too ridiculous, i think it can be singled out by the moderators and the spammer will be banned.

so it's not too much of a trouble

If I'm using a forum posting software and want to cut-paste multiple posts, it can get annoying.. 30 secs would be fine IMO.

hmm, but i though forum posting software are illegal ?

correct me if i am wrong, but it look spammable.

haha ;)

How is it illegal?

I'm talking about software such as Forum Fortunes which is basically a browser optimized to aid forum posting and browsing.

No spam involved tho anything in the wrong hands could spell trouble I suppose.

So annoying, eh?
If Namepros is running on a faster server, don't you think it'll help the members and activity if the 60 seconds posting limit was reduced?

Even if the forum is faster it still doesn't mean that it should take you less than a minute to type a post...By the time you type out a few sentences, proofread it quickly, and hit submit it should have already been a minute.
