I got an offer for a 4 letter Acronym in Spain's ES extension.

For 5000$ in Godaddy.

The name is related to Crypto. And ES is the most Used extension in Spain the same as .de is for Germany. I work in Spanish Company with Spanish So I know.

ok- I like to have faith in my domainers community, so let's reveal the name. It is - DEFI.ES

You know Defi, right? Isn't it a high-value keyword with high potential within the year 2025? I was determined to renew it till 2025 at least. Already have renewed it once.

But I am not accepting it for 5 k or for 20k US$.

Because you know I will have to wait & refuse several good offers to win the jackpot of the lifetime, right? Moreover, we are not Rick Schwartz with numerous high-value domain to sell in millions. So, I must be brave enough to refuse the 5k-10k-20k $ offer if I want a mega 50/75/100k sale for defi.es.

So, What option should I select now- Counter offer or push to Auction?

What is the benefit of push to Auction?

Will it get more domainers seeing this domain for sale?

Will potential End-user might get news about the auction?

Or I select the Counteroffer & ask for 50k or 100k $.

Is there any way to directly contact the interested buyer? Or I will have to totally depend on Godaddy?

Although I used Epik lander with my email ID, nobody contacted me. I hope he types defi.es in his browser & sees that & think of emailing me.

please share your opinion & thoughts.

It is a good offer. Take it if you can't afford to lose the sale.

If you can and believe it is worth more, then roll your dice.

It's common to get excited when one receives a good offer. At the same time, it's important to calm youself down and think practically and honestly. Sometimes, we doubt the potential of a domain and think twice before renewal, but if the same domain receives a good offer, we dream of becoming a millionaire instantly. This is a flaw in our thought process ..!!

Take the $5000 and invest it in crypto.
You could obviously counter and try for more.

Ask yourself. What is going to give you a better return?
Holding that domain name or holding crypto.

Last week I saw something from Rick, and really it's the way I've seen most successful negotiations play out.

In negotiations, an Anchor Price is set by the Buyer or Seller. By negotiating off of $5,000, you've just let their lowball price become the Anchor Price that the rest of the negotiations evolve from.

So as Rick suggested, do the following:

Lesson 2: If you give a counter-offer just because they made an offer, YOU LOSE!! You only give a counter-offer when they give you an offer inside your realm of value. Other than that, NO WAY!! They can keep making offers. NEVER counter until they are in the realm. If you have a $1 Million home and someone offers you $75,000, you don't counter. Not at $100k, not at $500k. Not at $750k. You counter when you get a TRULY BONA-FIDE offer! PERIOD! Or YOU LOSE! Why dance to their tune?? YOU set the parameters!

In the book (or audio book) Negotiation Genius, they describe the Buyer's Reserve Value & Seller's Reserve value. The only way a deal is going to happen is when the price falls between these two values. Rick's strategy addresses the issue of the Anchor Price falling far outside the ZOPA (Zone of Possible Agreement). They need to offer something within the realm of your Reserve Value before you even start to negotiate.

If you think about it, this is also the most genius strategy because if they did up their price to $75,000 and you still don't counter. You always have the option to come back and counter after having "thought about it". Which will look much better than countering at $150k, and then trying to take $75k, which is more likely to kill the deal or at minimum reduce their certainty about the value of the domain.

Do you think it would be easy to rank this domain in search engines?

Would a company call itself DeFi or would the domain be used to direct traffic / improve search engine visibility?

If you can't answer these questions positively, then maybe this domain won't sell for much.

If I were a DeFi company, I wouldn't buy it.

Hope this helps.

I'm not experienced in domains but I personally would counter offer with 40k if you want 25, then go down to 25, then if they don't accept it soon push it to auction and let them know.
