I am a huge fan of 4 character dot net's. Anyone else love them or am I the only person in the world? One would think since all the great dot com domains are taken the next best domain name extension would be the dot net's. Am I right about this or what? Why do I feel so many people are so anti-dot net? I've been buying 4 character dot nets for a while, I've built up a nice portfolio. Feel free to take a look. I also own many 4C dot com's. I mean 3 character dot nets are selling for many thousands of dollars with just ok letters. I understand the combinations are all taken, increasing the value. As the internet grows by leaps and bounds I find it very hard to believe 4C dot nets suck like I hear alot of people say. I've been selling/buying domains for 13 years. I've done very well and pride myself on selling 3 domains to GoDaddy.com directly without ever picking up the phone. Perhaps the people offering opinons don't have enough knowledge about domains, who knows. I know good names when I find or see them.

I like to buy tripple letter 4C dot net domains and double letter 4C combinations. Like..OOOT.net EEEB.net NNNB.net, JMMM.net IIPP.net and TTRR.net etc. I like unique looking domain names if that makes any sense. I picked up XXXJ.net a few months ago. I know J isn't the best letter to follow the XXX's but it's pretty good and it was the ONLY one available and it just became available at the time so I grabbed it. I wanted a tripple letter XXX for many years in dot com or dot net. Only 26 dot net 4C combinations are possible with the tripple XXX's first. IMO a domain like JXXX.net doesn't have the nearly the same appeal or value if the XXX's are the letters following. I check those patterns almost daily.

I would love to hear the thoughts from fellow domainers on 4 character dot net domains, thanks.

ah,

- .net domains are totally crap
- no-one use them
- why would someone buy 4l.net (cvcv.net) if you can get cvcv.com for 20 bucks
- there are no sales reported about .net
- totaly waste of money/time :imho:

just mine view on that

I do not think there will ever be value in LLLL.net unless they are words or common acronyms.

Not a big fan.

~50% are unregistered. Equivalent of 2002 LLLL.com trends. I think that you are probably getting excited about these domains 2-4 years to early. IIPP.net and TTRR.net are the best domains mentioned.

Value of .net actually depends on the market. My best example would be using a .net for the Middle East. .net is actually used MORE there than .com, so people are accustomed to it. I've witnessed many times people typing in known websites in .com but replacing it with .net. Other than the Middle East targeted domains, I tend to stay away from them.
