Hey Carob, except of course 3D.com for $500K, also in 2011

These were the other top 3D sales Ive seen

3DModels.com $33,720
3DPrinting.com $25,500
3DTV.co.uk $22,650
3DCity.com $29,500
3DParts.com $40,000

i think most of these make sense and really, aren't that much of a surprise....

.. i am, however, pretty surprised at these latest sales just for the long tail nature of them..

โ€ข 3dStreamingMedia.com - $9,950
โ€ข 3dPrintingMedia.com - $7,500
โ€ข 3dPrintPress.com - $5,000

โ€ข 3dPrintPress.net $5,000

โ€ข The3dPrintingShop.com - $1,500
(?) - a defensive buy? - $1,500?... cheers to the seller :)

i think sales like this give much more promise to this niche than the obvious

... haha.. and for ALL the grief 3d Domain Names took a couple years back, these are the types of names that would have been absolutely TRASHED back then... so... it's a pretty good sign..

Guys, all were purchased by the same person so its not really good indication of 3d sales, its one person obviously grabbing a few similar 3d printing names for a project of his

Dont read too much into it

i don't think any seller really cares what the side project is or what the reason is (unless they're trying to gauge how much money to ask)... the bottom line is they were hand regged in the midst of all our arguing - they were not exactly the sexiest names on everybody's list... and - they sold for a decent amount - for whatever reason... how could u simply ignore it?

what make this any different than when you sold cloudco?.. or any other regular sale?

the sales have been happening... 3dShoe for $2k??!!

i think it's fair to read as much as people want right about now... there is obviously a market here.

There is market but all im saying is dont look at this as being a huge week with 10 separate sales, just keep it in mind that 9 out of 10 names were from one buyer

im hoping we will have 10 or 20 sales like that every week soon

not sure how cloudco fits in here, but the cloud market is already developed and there are cloud sales like these 3d sales every week, its like comparing apples and oranges

Good 3d printing names will do well over the next few years

John, how you going anyway buddy, pm me

i only brought up your cloud sale to make a point - doesn't matter that it's one guy or not - that's all we really need - can't piece out a domain name :)

so... just skimming through this thread and going back to only August of this year, there is a very healthy, developing market happening here...

-- 3DShoes.com - $4,000 - August
-- 3d-Print - $6,000 - August
-- 3dPrinterWorld - $3,475 - August
-- 3dWin.com - $2,595 - August

-- Into3d - $1,670 - September
-- 3dSoftwareS - $1,000 - September

-- 3dShark - $949 - October
-- Get3d - $4,995 - October
-- 3dParts - $44,00 - October

-- 3dModels - $34,010 - November
-- 3dShoe - $2,000 - November
-- 3DVideo.com - $20,87 - November
-- (Plus all those additional sales listed above)

i'm only trying to point out that those who stuck with 3d throughout the ridicule, should feel very satisfied with what's happening now... let everybody read into it - why not? Good things are happening here...

btw...
.. 3dStreamingMedia was hand regged in 2009
... 3dPrintingMedia was hand regged in 2011
... 3dPrintPress was hand regged in 2008
... 3dPrintPress (dot net) was hand regged in 2012

... haha.. how is that not something to be a little excited about

(Happy Thanksgiving btw )
:)

---------- Post added at 04:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:42 PM ----------

one other thing
...
..
just going by the list of sales from August until November (so far)
... that's twenty two 3d names sold (reported!) in four months (more than five per month)

even if i remove the bigger sales which help bloat the average :

--- 3dPrinter.net - $60,000
--- 3dVideo - $20,870
--- 3dModels - $34,010
--- 3dParts - $44,000

the remaining 18 sales average out at $3,500 a name

haha.... those trends are not all that bad either.

Totally, some past sales have really given me some encouragement

I notice the betters sales are related to 3D printing which is where the 3D industry will boom, I cant see much happening with 3D TV at the moment, its seems to be dying a slow death

Does anyone know if any of those recent sales are from anyone on NP?

For me, the recent 3d printing domain sales helps give confidence when pricing my portfolio, and reminds me that this really is a growing market worth holding out for. I mentioned on another post recently that I nearly sold 3DPrintedShoes.com for $500 to the buyer of 3Dshoes.com and 3Dshoe.com, (a total of $6000 spent). Something I may have regretted in time...

Just to add, My one 3d printing sale so far was:

PrintedFood.com for roughly $2500 back in April on Sedo.

VisionEdger lets see this one is a prime example of showing some fools who comment just what can happen with FT domains nobody here has a crystal ball so yeh when you comment like that it really does show pure ignorance.
i bought porn3d (.info) hand regged by the way back in 2010 for less than a dollar
10 days later i sold it on for $400

you can mock everyone all you like but facts are facts if you would like to check the sale for yourself it was made on sedo on july 28th 2010the name was dropped but that does not alter the fact i flipped it in 10 days.

just an example of whats possible you cant tell anyone here the Names are crap or whats going to sell in uncharted water obviously some names aint gonna do anything but coming on here and running off just makes you look the fool m8

haha

i'm still SO AMAZED at the ire '3d domain names' brings out of people.

it's like those that wish them to disappear are not able to so - so they get even MORE mad at the success of the ones that are actually happening.

Look, the truth of the matter is this:
... you can no longer argue the fact that people WILL buy a 3d domain name in the aftermarket
... you can no longer argue the fact that 3d domain names WILL sell
... you can no longer argue that "all the good ones have been gone for years"
... you can no longer argue that there is NO aftermarket for hand regged 3d names
... you can no longer argue that YOU HAVE TO LIKE IT!!

haha
and THAT's the bottom line right there, isn't it.

Why you would want to come here and attack Giles for trying to actually keep everyone even keel just makes no sense (?!)

meh... we'll never win anyway so really.. who cares about those who actually lack VISION
... bring on Holo :)

heh heh heh

lol all good here hope alls well with ya :)

see 2010 what did i say 3d printing get on it lol and i was already late saying it
for those that dont know me i only dip my feet in a little with domaining more a little hobby which has taken a back seat last two years
nice sales coming through and tbh it dont matter if its 10 different ppl or just one sales are sales but as giles said it does not mean you are gonna get suddenly rich on your names keep the feet on the floor and dont make the mistake of regging some rubbish on the basis of these sales like so many did before and ended up dropping a stack.
research is paramount when you are done researching guess what research some more
good luck all in the next year or so should be interesting not just in printing.
just a query the guy who is buying up all the adult names contact me i have a very generous propostion for him if you are on here
