Hello everyone, I hope you are having a nice weekend. :)

I'm trying to find what program is used to create those 3D product boxes you often see around the web these days. They appear to be real boxes (like software would come in) but they are really just graphic images made using a company name, logo etc.

Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

Sorry if this didn't make sense. :red:

Well they probably just make a cube and slap a scanned image onto it.

For that, just download http://www.blender3d.org

Hey -db- ;)

I know exactly what you are talking about, and I do not have a 3D rendering program, so here is what I used to learn how to make them in photo shop, the tutorial is writen for those who want to make game software boxes, but really, you can do what I did, and just add your own things over the box once you have it, and after you play with this a time or two, and save a box template, you can do it when ever you want ;)

You can read it here

Hope my poor man's idea works for you too ;)

Zac and Rowan, thank you both very much. This helps me tremendously.

I've sent you each a small (NP$) token of my appreciation, and will add rep too.

You guys rock! :)

Re: Boxes

Hello DB I have one or two other suggestion.

You can have a look at the packs that I have designed at http://www.bluesoftweb.com/products.php

I have used Ecover engineer.

And some times I use 3DMax.

I generally design the outer skin in photoshop and then apply the skin to the cubic box and render the image.

It gives the best results then the other programs.

Let me know If you want to design 2 or 3 boxes I will do it for free.

You can also see a Box which I have recently designed in the attachment.

It was done in 3D MAX.

Thanks.

Nick and Beans (sounds like a TV show, or a menu food item  ) thanks to both of you.

I think I've got what I need now, but you guys have given me more great options to choose from. I appreciate you taking the time, and I'm sending you a little NP$ plus adding rep (unless the system won't let me because I've already added rep for you recently).

And Nick.... don't be surprised if I get frustrated on my own, and eventually take you up on your kind offer. :red: ;)
