$30 logo design needed

I had this posted in contests along with another $50 logo design contest but no takers so I thought it best to try to repost in here:


I'm offering $30 for a logo design for a site I'm working on. Deadline is 1/10/06 and payment will be paid out instantly to the winner via Stormpay or Paypal (unless the winner prefers a money order via snail mail).

The name of the site is MysteryManga.com and the text "Let somebody ELSE pay for your manga addiction" may or may not be included.

Looking for something neat and tidy and easily scalable. The site is a paid club where referrals earn members free Japanese comic books through snail mail. So manga/anime themes or mail boxes can be incorporated.

Please keep all questions public since other interested parties may have the same questions.

So far will7 looks like he's headed in the right direction. I'm not too crazy about the font but it's certainly in the general vicinity of what I'm looking for. (noticed the Dibbz logo on your site portfolio and wouldn't mind seeing something similar font-wise) Everyone else feel free to make changes and resubmit. It's not over till it's over! I had a PM about size requirements and wanted to keep my reply public in case anyone else was wondering the same:

I'm not dead set on a size for either contest. I would like something that could be modified for multiple uses...the web site header, product packaging, mailers, business cards, stickers, etc. So preferably vector graphics I can resize for particular applications. Also, if it has graphics with the text it would be great if the text was cool enough to stand alone should I choose to remove the art for something simple.

Still looking good. I've got some people coming over this evening so I'm gonna run these by them to get other opinions. Like I said in another post I'd like to get something where the text part of the logo could also be easily recognizable and hold its own. I think right now the only thing is I feel like the slogan box kinda throws it off. I'm not sure whether it would be best to drop it altogether, make it smaller, or just not box it in. No big deal though. I can always tinker with that in Illustrator after the contest is over.

I'm not sure if the logo correctly captures the concept, but not a bad start. Honestly you might want to swing in a different direction from Will. Right now the designs are so similar you're pretty much just putting the logo portion head to head. Looking forward to seeing your resubmitted work.

Removed the slogan box altogether and just used text for the slogan.

Just reduced the font size. I'm not trying to be pushy or anything, but do you feel we're getting close to a contest-winner here, or do we still have a way to go?

I'm gonna keep things rolling until 1/10 as stated in the first posting in case we get any suprise entries. Oh, and thanks for the resize but like I said, that stuff is no biggie because I can play with your finished design in Illustrator or whatever to fine tune it.
